I love playing in the dirt and working in my garden, maybe some day I'll be able to post some pics. My mom says she must have let me play in the dress up stuff too long when I was a kid, because I love costumes! I don't have any "people kids" but refer to my four legs as my kids. Don't know what I'd do without the little hair balls.

Thanks for the info - I've got the peroxide and stuff handy for shampooing and have talked to the wildlife dept about renting a trap. Our animal control here absolutely SUCKS, tho. They will only take "domestic" animals. So what is a resident supp...

Just out of curiosity - are Border collies talkers? I know some breeds are much talkie than others and rat terriers really don't talk much - but Sadie Mae is half and half and she talks all the time.

I have GOT to have this day lily!! Besides the fact that I love the color, how can I resist the name?? I guess I am going to have to move some more stuff and maybe get rid of a few of my duplicate day lilies so I can make room for this one. The name sounds like it should be an OPI nail polish, doesn't it?

I can not believe I let my husband talk me into getting a puppy Sunday!! I really didn't feel ready for another dog yet - but there she was - last of her litter. So I'm now mom to Sadie Mae, a rat terrier border collie mix, and she IS really cute. Toby isn't real happy about the puppy but she's behaved really well considering how territorial she is. My sweet baby dog made her final journey Monday. She suffered from serious health problems all her life-requiring several extended stays at the emergency vet's and daily medication-but her final decline was very sudden.

Let the marathon begin! Planning on 8 batches of Spritz and 6 batches of pecan sandies - got to get 'em done so they can get shipped off to my husband's family. Guess I'll be up to my elbows in cookie dough for the next couple of days!

It's a done deal. We signed all the paperwork today - signed away basically 20 feet of backyard and 11 1/2 feet of flowerbeds, trees, privacy fence, and our shed. It was a long tough negotiation! Didn't get as much as I wanted for the trees and stuff, but I told them what the minimum I'd take was and we reached a middle ground that doesn't satisfy either the city or me - the subtle art of diplomacy - HA! So now I'm praying for a cool spell so I can move plants without them or me shriveling up...
