Shopping cart rides down brick sidewalks, leaping over fences like gazelles, finding beauty in the cold and frosty nights, sharing the potent witches brew. The girl that was the life of the party all night --- to rouse me from sleep (when the birds were just barely starting to stretch their wings, and perhaps testing a couple of morning trills) for a brisk hike in the mountains before class. In the moment? Nah---she WAS the moment and I am sure she still is for those fortunate people that know her . There were 'suns' in our former life-Mountain and Down and Rise. Only one crane, but we knew it well...
Goodness...the "three-skirt" stage, the 4am philosophizing, the naughty party, the naropa parties, heartbreaks and so much laughter ---I cherish my "Taurmini moments"
I love you, girl!

about me
hhhmm, i think i kinda did this in interests. to tell you about me would be to tell you of what i interest and what interests me. little things, simple things. i spent a long while yesterday watching ants carry a leaf. my favorite season is the fall on the eastcoast and summer on the west. i think i would like spring in ireland and summer in the greek isles. my fingers often find their way to my scars and i like the smell of burnt cheese. sometimes i don't know the difference between thought and deed, what i dreamt and what i meant. i don't know if i mind. my voice is big and i really laugh. on sundays i make a big breakfast with my girls, listen to music with the soles of my feet, and drink strong coffee under the trees. i like to knit, but i'm not that good. fire dancing and belly dancing seem like a good way to spend some time. not a hippy, but inclined towards organics. believer in change and cranky procrastinator. sometimes when the stereo is on i pretend i am the one singing. the one who wrote the song. about me. by the time you read this it may no longer be true.

waiting

Waiting. For a drink, for a show, for a moment, for the right time. It's the anticipation that I'm waiting for. Zippers and tights, laughter and red wine slipping to the floor; getting ready for the evening is more fun than what we're priming f...

nothing to say. how to say nothing. tongue pressed against teeth, lips...curled up or down? saying nothing is an art demanding much practice. say nothing. be nothing. do it right, practice it well, and soon feeling nothing is reached. find yourself in the reflection of another's eyes, in the fullness of a busy day. there is always plenty of nothing to do and a whole lotta nothing to say. then one day there just is nothing, the practice made perfect, and we all go on together with our...

that little moment where the coffee tasted better than good or that second where you didn't say what you should. all these small moments. i woke up this day...tiny fragments of last night still in my hair. read a new tale, a book so good i covered myself with sun before it was through. missed long walks, coffee talks, the dog sighed in the shadows. i listened to a brave friend, a girl i adore, tell stories of scabs found on the boards she travels. it being that time, i made my feet fin...

One strong kick to the side, a sharp upturn of the wrist turning nose into splinters that pierce the brain. Or that well-turned insult, that polished professionally prose that leaves no breath with which to rebuke. It is these rare violent outburts that collect the attention, that paint our world violet and orange. Beware, we think eyes slipping side to side, watching in the turning shadows for that strange, cruel other, that rare maniac ready to do us in. Yet this I ...

Waiting. For a drink, for a show, for a moment, for the right time. It's the anticipation that I'm waiting for. Zippers and tights, laughter and red wine slipping to the floor; getting ready for the evening is more fun than what we're priming for. The ride took cramped days, unstretched legs. There were bathrooms that made as swear we could hold it and gallons of blackened sugary, caffineated water that promised we couldn't. You fell asleep and I couldn't reach the CD's. Sleepy eyes cr...
