<div>As time speeds up we must slow down
to stay open to the eternal lessons that abound
the minute you run with eyes to the ground
the sacred door is closed to the universal sounds
that breathe spirit into the work that for this moment you've found

If you can maintain connection through the minutes of your way
your life will be a collection of sacred days</div>

<div>"You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered . . .

Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we've been waiting for."

<div>As gods forgotten cry
remember that your smile
holds all things

There are serpents at your feet
mulching the roots where pain and self meet
uncovering the heart from generations of grief

Awake again to dream again
you wonder out loud where is this end
eternity replies in hollowed sighs
fueling the fire of gods disguise

On the horizon the fallen will again rise
commencing the beginning of shadows demise
as spirit holds its breath do not ask why
just know that you are held like the clouds hold the sky

<div>I'm creating a blog called The Conscious Word (hopefully soon its own website). The blog will be a source of poetry and written word from many different people from all walks of life. The intention is that the writing will inspire, uplift and ultimately serve as a seed for conscious growth and awakening for all who read. The blog is not for profit, it’s a service for the people. It will be on a link that is connected to another website that I'm working on with Stephanie that is almost live called Peace for the People, that site will be ultimately viewed by millions of people so this blog has the potential to be viewed by that many as well. So, if you or others you know have writing or poetry that inspires, opens and uplifts the soul then please send it to theconsciousword@gmail.com. It will be reviewed by our editors and if selected you will be notified and we will proceed from there.

Cheers,

What if ...

What if our religion was each other
if our practice was our life
if prayer, our words

What if the temple was the earth
If forests were our church
If holy water-the rivers, lakes, and oceans

What if meditation was our relationships
If the Teacher was life
If wisdom was self knowledge
IF love was the center of our being.

<div>Ahh, my beautiful friend what brings you here tonight
were you thinking of me like I was of you
I know the days have been too long
and the nights too quick to end
but now that I have you here let us share these breaths
and see what wounds we can mend

I miss your laugh every time different, ever time new
a vibrant reflection of your constant evolution
always willing to let go of the parts of yourself
that you no longer need and always quick
to greet with love the new parts forever being born

I have such hope for us

let us not just heal the world with voice and action
but instead heal ourselves and the world will follow

let us not just dance under the stars
but instead dance like the mystics and become the stars

let us not just share this moment of love for now
but instead become this moment of love and share it for all eternity

    </a>
										<div>I will always remember
the feel of her smooth fingers alive
as she held my hand and led me
through spring rain to the riverside

I will always remember
the heat of love in her eyes
as she called to the places
where stillness resides

she knelt down and kissed the world
for all its love and all its pain
she took off her dress
wearing her body with feminine grace
as one tear traced her silent face

I couldn't tell if it was born from the love or the pain
maybe it was neither just a goodbye kiss from the rain

I knew I was in the presence of the goddess divine
as she shook loose her red hair allowing life to fall from the vines
and into the water she slid calling to the shadows to free her from the mind

the shadow of rock was the first to arrive
keeper of the records that chart all of time
she smiled for rest as he sat like the lotus soft upon her chest
quietly whispering he held her last sigh
and like a candle he blew out all the light in her eyes
I could feel for a moment the beauty of death
but then was called back by the spirit of breath

I will always remember
the peace in her face
never again shall I fear death
all things have their place</div>

melts stillness on the water

<div>
You cannot brake your own heart so give it away
freely. When it gets broken say thank you because it
gives you the opportunity to build a new one, one that
is closer to wholeness. Shape for it a foundation
free of jadedness, fear and anger. These only create
a heavy structure that can again crumble easily.
Instead use love and light. They are infinite, weigh
nothing and can never be shattered.</div>

<div>
I can feel your wings spreading as you ready yourself for flight
feathers decorated with the echoes of time
as the mothers of eternity make love in your hair
the day has come for the undoing of this world
with each tear centuries of fear fall away
eroding the scars upon her skin
we've come back to begin again
to give voice to the divine song that calls from within
stop accepting what doesn't belong
your mind shapes the next rhyme
choose carefully what you move your feet to
as there are many vibrations hoping to express themselves through you
listen with your heart
its the only ear we have tuned to the frequencies
of the universal truths that ripple through us
stop asking for help as it all lies within you
we can go no further until you trust and take
responsibility for who you truly are
if you still wonder I will remind you
You are the eternal promise of love
You are the loom weaving energy into time
You are the pain of life and the freedom of death
You are the father, the mother, the murderer
You are the spring and the fall, the saints and the sages
You are the expression of the divine complete and ageless
accept this, know this, live this and together we will fly

<div>That's right right folks, I'm back for another fantastic orbit around the sun! If its anything like the last one I better buckle up. Let us celebrate not with e-mails or gifts. All I ask is that this Wednesday (most know the routine) head on out and do something kind for a stranger. Some of the stories from last years escapades were truly awesome; pulling people out of snowy ditches, filling parking meters, slices of pizza and pancakes for those in need, random hugs, donations to charities and the list goes on. So lets go out there this Wednesday in honor of all we have to be thankful for and spread a little love. I'm humbled and honored to know you all, your presence is such a gift to me and everyone else. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Be Excellent to Yourself,

Ancestral Healing

<div>ancestors arise, wipe the dark from your eyes
you come from the light let your night fade away
you think your past deeds are all that you are
well your thoughts are your chains they are not who you are
centuries pass across your eyes
no more can we wait as the children cry
in this melody of love remember who you are
open your heart and fly like the dove
all is forgiven its finally time
give into the light and through us you'll shine
with you awake together we'll brake
this cycle of pain that makes up our chains
remember your home your never alone
give forth your love and help us rise above

When I was in Peru working with sacred medicines one of the main lessons that came to me was that as individuals we need to be connected to our ancestors and there powers to be able stand in our true self, fully realized. This cannot be done as long as there are traumas and unresolved emotions/issues that are still connected with them and the lives they led. It is up to us to heal these blemishes in there energies through prayer and ceremony and once that is done there powers of love and light can shine through us allowing us to stand fully in our true power. When I got back I did some research on this theory and found some interesting information. Bellow is one web-site that talks of this kind of healing and I pasted a little of what it had to say here. I urge us all to heal and reconnect with our ancestors. We cannot not make change happen on our own, they have to be involved as well, they are apart of us as is there love and pain.

Clearing Your
Ancestral Blocks

Taken from the book Healing Your Family Patterns by David Furlong-

The Importance of the Ancestors
This is one of the most fascinating branches of healing that at present gets very little attention. A significant part of our life patterning stems from our genetic inheritance. In many cultures, both sophisticated and primitive, a great deal of attention is given to the ancestral family, for ancestor worship is one of the most widespread of all religious belief systems. In Taoism time is regularly set aside for consulting the ancestors and prayers are offered up on their behalf. The same was true in Ancient Egypt and we have some textual accounts of the specific requests that were made to the ancestors to help resolve daily problems. The ancestors were seen as having a direct link with the spiritual world and therefore in a position to bring positive benefit to the family. It was perhaps also intuitively realised how directly their energies affected the world of the living family.

In his book Karma and Reincarnation Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, who is the Head Priest of the Shinto Tamamitsu sect of Japan, makes this profound statement:

"The parent/child connection manifests as one link in a long chain of ancestral karma that stretches back through time. Your link to your family allows you to be born into that specific line - it is a link that needs to be understood and respected. In this modern scientific age it is very difficult for people to accept the fact that they are responsible to their ancestors, that they are actually liable for the actions of their ancestors if the resulting karma has not yet been dissolved. Many find it absurd to think that the actions of an unknown ancestor could possible have anything to do with what is happening to them today. But time and time again when investigating someone's karma, I find problems that stretch back generations. Their spirit is not just an individual entity, it is also part of the family spirit that births and nurtures it."

At a spiritual level time and space impose no restrictions so, in one sense, your ancestors are living concurrently with you. This can be a hard concept to take on board, for the Western mind has become conditioned into thinking only in linear terms. Other cultures not so restricted accepted a much greater fluidity in the movement between past present and the future. The ancestors were alive and connected to them. In propitiating the departed they were positively helping the flow of Ch'i in their lives.</div>

<div>To remember, to forgive, to let go into every breath, every smile, every tear, this is the goal.
With each tinge of emotion we let in we let go of a piece of the wall that separates us from the now.
The canyons of awareness are carved by the waters of emotion, let them in to carry away your stones.</div>

<div>Hope chases fear caught in winters tooth
blood remids us were alive
all i am i cannot see, death in love, alone i'm free
all falls away, sky, thought, life
I cannot let go
in world of mirror white has betrayed light
ancestors your song is too soft to awake the children of this night
the cold has come, its whispers bury me
god melts in bones crying foul
dance is lost in sins of race
stars play strings with broken bows
recycling wrongs through sunken tones
isness turned to business, rapture lost
blanket of tomorrow suffocating now
this painting comes and goes
this soul trapped in your time, your mind, your body, your rage, your rape
hour by hour, drop by drop
have you gone crazy yet
when you do i will be set free apart from me
distant from this shore lost in all that can never be
and Navajo songs sing inside, outside of years
the red arise from the dead
i am the soul of the red
i sing for all that is dead

<div>
When your heart found mine
In the beginning of time
True love was born
And we placed her in the sky
Even though we have long since parted
She remains the same
Forever the goddess of love and pain

Well I’d make you a moon
A sun and some rain
If I thought it would help you
To ease your pain
But the ocean keeps pulling
You further away
Surrender to the darkness
There lies a brighter day

What would it take
For you to love me again
If I told you I’ve changed
Made love from the pain
Would that be enough for you
To step down from your night
And hold me again
Until the morning light

Well I’ve danced with you now
For thousands of years
You’re my mother my lover
My child my fears
Even though I forget
From this life to the next
You always find me
And remind me I’m alive

I’m alive with indigo blood in my veins
I’m alive with this family that’s called insane
I’m alive with all the voices that are crying to be heard
I’m alive with all the souls ascending this world
I’m alive with the laughter that your heart brings
I’m alive with the love that lies in all things

So when your heart found mine
In the beginning of time
True love was born
And we placed her in the sky
Even though we have long since parted
She remains the same
Forever the goddess of love and pain

<div>
If the morning sun doesn’t find your eyes
Did you do all that you could do to love when you were alive

It’s one in the morning and I can’t sleep
I have children’s screams rippling through my dreams
Did you believe the lies they told you
Accepted on blind trust
Bent over by greed and lust
Did you open your heart and put down you fear
Long enough to see we’re not alone here
We’re American’s
Its to late
All emotions dried up with yesterdays McDonald’s and American Idol’s
Can you feel your heart anymore
Can anybody hear me
Is anyone out there

The day capitalism killed democracy
It’s enough for me to give up
Has the Great Spirit not had enough
When will the pain we inflict upon others
Be enough for us to realize that it’s our schools we drop the bombs on
Our children that bleed
Weren’t our profit margins high enough after selling democracy
Did we have to sell our hearts too
Our minds
Our souls
I hope your grass is green and your wifes fake tits don’t pop when she calls you a liar
I hope your cross doesn’t burn from your soul on fire

Wait
I feel something
Thank You
I feel anger
From the bottom of my soul to the tips of my toes

Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you for making me feel something anything
I’m still alive
Not yet ready to be thrown out with the rest of the starbucks cups
Though its anger I feel I will face it with love and tomorrow it will be light
Which I will shine on your life because I burn longer than your oil
I am more abundant than all your spoils
I am all that ever was and all that will ever be
Like it or not I am you and you are me
So sit with me my enemy, my friend, my brother, my sister, my lover, my father, my mother
Its time we make amends and bring this dream to its end

Can you put down your fear long enough to feel your love
Can you find your smile by remembering what its like to be a child
Can you trust the light enough to fall into the darkness
Can you face your pain with love and realize they’re the same
Can you fight for freedom with freedom
Can you fight for peace with peace
Can you fight for love with love

If the morning sun doesn’t find your eyes
did you do all that you could do to love when you were alive

<div>join me in the grass, come frolic and play
we’ve come so far from innocence only to be led astray
dripping with dreams when youth was ripe
we’d share a simple kiss and then we’d give it back to the night
oh we’ve come so far to go back alone

i see the stars and the sea in you and me
we’re all that ever was and all that will ever be
touch me now in love or hate, anger or lust
burn my heart or tickle my soul, its all the same
with no one to blame but this ageless dream
made not from you or me but it controls us can’t you see
every second born to die, deaths always by our side
bring her to the voices that judge and make you hide
she’ll unite them as one and build a choir of love from there lies

so come and join me in the grass on this sunny spring day
as we forgive the past and remember how to play
pay no attention to this dream though its all we can see
lets just love ourselves today so tomorrow we can be free

vipassana 10 day sit...

<div>So the sit.. Well it all went down on a 120 acre campus tucked away in the foothills outside of my home from a past life, Yosemite. The center is run off the donations of old students and volunteers and costs only what you can offord to give, as anything pure should. Immediatly upon my arrival I was greated by kind beauty in the smile of others, smell of the land and taste of the veggie cuisine, I knew at once much truth was alive and waiting to be uncovered in such a place. On the third night after 30 hours of meditation (and keep in mind no eye contact or talk'n with others except the teacher), through tapping into the sorrow of my own life I was then able to see the sorrow of all my friends lives which then in turn tapped me into the sorrow of humanity. Upon the horror of that insight I had to excuse myself and run into the womb of the dark wood that lay behind the hall which at that moment was busy graciously greeting winters first snow. I unfortunatly had to disrupt this quiet communion with kicks and fists to the gut of the earth and curses, tears and the middle finger to the heavens (even the trees need a good fuck you every once in a while, reminds them there alive too). Ironicaly enough the teaching the next day was how we must recognize the despair of humanity and life before we can liberate our selfs from it and I learned this to be so true during the rest of my time their... Then on the fifth day half way into my morning sit I discovered this deep seeded anger and resentment that had uprooted itself in my subconscious and came through into to consciouss. It was anger I didn't even now I had for my family centered around the fact that we never have really been a familly. We are a group of individuals that exist toghether only through blood and name and have never really shared a greater love that comes out of a cohesive familly unit. This was shit that must have come from my childhood and was storred away in anger until that moment of discovery. It was so beautiful to realize and then to forgive, and upon that forgivness I felt that anger and weight burn away. And in that space that once held the anger I was able to fill it with love and gratitude for all that my familly has given me, which is so much of who I am today. When I got up from that sit I literally felt like a different person, colors were brighter sounds sharper, more in the present than I had ever been. It really made me realize the power of forgiveness. In order to have access to our true power in the present we must forgive all that is in our past, only then can we be free from it, to stand fully in the now and shape its maleable walls into what ever it is we desire. From there on the rest of the sit was true beauty. Its amazing to me how much traveling we do, how much money we spend, how much therapy we go through, how many pills we take, how much time we waste seeking truth when the wisdom of the universe lies with in and all we have to do is take the time to listen. During that ten day sit I briefly touched something pure and couldn't destinguish it from myself and the rest of the universe but since then I have felt a calmness in me that I have never known, maybe its faith, faith in the universe, faith in myself, an assurance that everything is going to be okay, things might not shake out exactly how I wish them to but regardless everything will be alright, I have faith in that. 12/26/06
