My Blog
It's always the fucking little things that trip you up!!1
Fri, June 22, 2007 - 10:28 PMHow do you talk about the first person that erased years of bad schooling from tired and bored teachers, and showed you that basically Shakespeare was simply a brilliant poet, and that the language was reachable to everybody. I have no fucking picture of the man that was the biggest diva, the loudest bitch, had the most annoying laugh ever!! You really completely loved him or wanted his head on a stake. There was no in between. Selfish, petty, condescending, silly, talented and I loved every bit of his epileptic asthmatic self. I still use the broccoli and cheese recipe, and last month it was so good, my boyfriend ate some between two slices of bread. We shared a birthday. May 15. My best friend as I was discovering myself. He was the reason i moved to San Francisco in the first place. There so much to say and I am full right now...
My friend Thom Bach died this morning and I cant find one fucking picture for this blog.

...For he was great of heart.
"You really completely loved him or wanted his head on a stake. There was no in between. " I personally feel that Thom's personality was colossal enough to to generate equal amounts of both feelings simultaneously, along with copious amounts of laughter, and the frequent Carol Channing impression, but it's true: no one was ever indifferent to Thom - if you knew him, he reached you. I'm grateful for the times we shared onstage together, and will always carry the memories of them with me...I do have a photo, somewhere, of Thom in the pink & white (with Lime green highlights) splendor that was his costume as an 18th Century fop in "The Country Wife" - I'll find it, scan it and send it along. "Yet eyes this cunning want to grace their art; They draw but what they see, know not the heart." - Sonnet XXIV |

I loved that production. I'm seeing Carma today. I'll let her know too. Do you know if there is a memorial?

damn...I had heard he was sick
wow - and you're right it was one way or the other - the Carol Channiing outbursts, the snarky remarks and an ever ready ear for gossip, the carpool to Shakespeare in the Park with the non-stop commentary. I'm really sorry to hear of his passing only hearing recently that he was ill. My thoughts are with you boo, let's get together soon ok?

In memorium: Thom Bach
The highly regarded, longtime area actor and director Thom Bach passed away from cancer last Thursday, June 21. A celebration of his Life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 9, at the Art Court Theatre at Sacramento City College. Bach worked at most of the theaters in the area, including the Geary, Woodland Opera House, Chautauqua Playhouse and Lambda Players. The 43-year-old started working in Sacramento community theater just out of high school. One of his first productions was “Juno and Paycock” at City College in 1983. There he met and developed a lifelong friendship with Kim McCann. McCann said Bach had made peace with his illness: “He really faced it with grace and humor.” She said Bach expressed only one disappointment. “He said, ‘I’m really only mad about I’m not going to know how “Harry Potter” turns out.’ ” Bach scripted the celebration of life, considering it his last production.
