Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah......

This is a recipe(sort of) that I just made up. made from vegetables purchased at my local farmer's market.

If you grow your own, so much the better, but for those who don’t, these ingredients are found late summer to early autumn at the farmer’s market here in the northeast.

This recipe assumes you have basic kitchen/cooking skills and therefore is vague on details. Don't be worried if you question whetehr things should be chopped, diced, minced or whatever. It will all be just fin... read more

....a tree has to be issued and placed by the Parks Department.

Walking down 21st Street the other day, I noticed this little plant sprouting from the seam between concrete sidewalk and building foundation. Happy for the little fellow, I stopped to smile and take note. But then....I noticed a certain familiarity......

This plant truly did germinate from within a crack that just seems impossible. Wondering how the seed got there in the first place. Maybe someone huddled in the corner... read more

Last night, after a day of climbing good routes, we headed to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Baccus. If you are ever in New Paltz, it will become one of yours too, no doubt. Good food, not too expensive, and a gigantic beer menu. Something like 400 diferent beers available. I don't drink beer, but I stilll like Baccus.

I was ravenous, because I'd rushed out the door with no food. All I had eaten that day was a cup of coffee with 2 tsps of sugar and about an eight cup of mi... read more

Sydney lives next door to me; we’re on a fifth floor in a walk-up building. He’s been here years longer than I. Maybe his entire adult life. He’s old. Really old. And it takes him 20 minutes to get up these stairs. But he never complains; doesn’t seem to see it as a hardship, like I did when I first moved in. Had to make up ditties and sing to myself to distract me from the out of shape efforts I had to make. Especially with groceries, and especially at holiday time, when I put up feat... read more

The weekend was fabulous, as always, even though it was not what was anticipated nor agreed upon beforehand.....

Richard called Thursday and said his illness(MS) made climbing not possible, confiding that he'd had to lower off....Bunny, a 5.4. The disease is killing the nerves in his forearms, making it impossible for him to grip. Fuck, man.... I couldn't help laughing though, when he told me he decided, after the Bunny fiasco, to try an easier route, and chose Easy Keyhole(5.2). If you... read more

I live in New York City; a nice place to visit, while in between other places.....Hang out upstate, to climb/hike/camp at the Gunks. Like to road trip. Joshua Tree is my winter climbing base. Looking to get around to other areas too, especially when it's off season in the Northeast.

I am also an artist; I do creative writing and some other crafts. Own a small business whose mission is to care for animals and their human companions as they relate to the animal, and to provide me with the tiome/cash to have as much leisure time as possible.

Donola Granola
( miscellaneous » other ) "Donola Granola Is Pretty Damned Good" This is some good granola, and is made locally, by a local guy, in Brooklyn. I noticed a cool, delivery-type bike outside a store the other day. It had a metal cart on back, with the logo for the company.

"How cool" I thought. "A company t... read more
