Underneath its branches, kissed by the leaves
I flew there, in my hearts' minds eye
I met him there, and our bark intertwined
My leaves changed colour,
sunlight on dew
The wind took our cares and tickled us two
We giggled and laughed and the wind gave consent
The wind gave the nod to our lovely intent
We budded and sprouted
We whispered and shouted
While all the while,
our friend the wind
Sent whispers of our new-found delight
To the lovers orb,
The star in the night
The moon came to spy on our progressive affair
He waxed and he waned
And our love was still there
With the wind he made clouds play across his face like a film
and in deep rooted awe we watched
Our hand-twigs braided like a wreath on a pyre
The moon's beauty on us was not lost
When the sun rose each day the moon was not sad
Nor was I
And nor were you
For we knew that soon the dark would descend
And our love is timeless and true.

so very beautiful...it brought sweet tears to my eyes....trees are so loving, roots reaching down to Mother Earth, branches reaching to Father Sun.....and maintaining a wise stance, with a sense of humor, too.
Oak is a tree I love to hug!
I'm glad you read it and enjoyed, your posts have lifted me so often!
I seem to be quite inspired at the moment, hopefully I write some more soon!
Much Love to you.
