10:00 - 1:00 Egyptian Balady with BAHAIA
Bahaia can help you bring attitude to your dance! This workshop covers combinations and technique similar to the dances of Egyptian celebrity Fifi Abdo. Learn the stylizations of egyptian balady dance, and how to craft an energetic yet earthy persona.
1:00 - 1:30 Lunch break & shopping
1:45 - 3:45 Raqs Sharqi Drills & Combos with DAVID
Technique and combinations! This workshop focuses on correct muscular work, posture, arms, layering technique, emphasis in movements and feeling for Egyptian Raqs Sharqi.
3:45 - 4:00 Water break
4:00 - 5:30 Indian/Egyptian Fusion: Bhangawazee with DAVID
A mixture of Bhangra and Gawazee movements creating an interesting upbeat and complex movement vocabulary for incorporation into your fusion dance styles.
5:30 - 6:30 Dinner Break & shopping
7:00 Hafla
FREE admission for workshop participants. $10 admission, general public. If you would like to perform in the show, please select the "free hafla ticket" option, so that your slot can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 7:00.
