I was reading through all the stuff - and how everyone is handling everything - and I don't even know the full deal you guys went through - but I DO know you two - and have always thought you were some of the most stand-up people I'd met in the "community". But I'm reading that stuff and thinking - there is NO WAY for anyone to know what happened, and then people who want power or popularity will just take whatever they think the most popular opinion is. So if a stripper says this and a married couple with kids says this - guess whose view will be accepted? Repeated insults to your "looks" or drug usage - ah - yes, I've felt some of that too. I think that this speaks to the "culture" of this community too - it's one of the reasons I have to stop and really rethink the whole "legalizing" prostitution thing - there's this lizard brain thing that happens with people - add that to the groupthink, popularity games and you know, I start thinking that this "civilization" and "repression" thing doesn't look so insane anymore. Just ramblings from my own changing understanding. There seems to be literally no real reasonable discussion of these issues - just childish insults and denials. It'll be interesting to see how it all really plays out.

The main problem is the good people do not want to get involved if they do not know what really happenned or the people involved. And it gets hard to remember that there are decent people out there when all you see is the whack jobs.
The whack jobs are just whack jobs, and unfortunately they are the most vocal I going to say out of the LV community for a while. Sooner or later some one will pick up the pieces and maybe it can be built into a real BM community |
