about me
I have been a drummer for over 20 years, playing on the drum set as well as on various hand percussion. I have been in a number of bands playing musical styles such as blues, new wave, heavy metal and synthpop. I also like Celtic and Middle Eastern music, and classic rock, as well as traditional and folk music from all times and places. I am an experienced ritual drummer who knows how to work with the flow of energy within a ritual. I also enjoy drumming at fire circles.
I have been belly dancing for a couple of years and I belong to a troupe that dances at renaissance faires and other places.
I am a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. I make clothing and jewelry, mostly costumes for my own use, but I occasionally sell my wares at festivals, gatherings and flea markets.
I don't post here very often, but you can look at my LiveJournal blog here:

The name at this point is The Pagan and the Prophet, which I think is really cool :)

There is a picture of some of the items I will be selling in my Photos section. Besides jewelry, I also have a couple of hand made skirts and tops, batiked capes and hip scarves, a few used clothing/costume items, nag champa oil, incense and soap, and bindis (the smaller ones; I used all the larger ones at the faire), bells on strings, and I...

I don't like raging at women. I am a Feminist and have spent my life trying to build community, help empower women and stop violence against them. It is hard to write about Sarah Palin. This is why the Sarah Palin choice was all the more insidious and cynical. The people who made this choice count on the goodness and sol...

The CT Renaissance Faire starts on September 27! Yay! I am looking forward to performing, but also to all the shows and interesting costumes and just walking around the faire being a pretend gypsy. I have to somehow find more time for dance practice. Our troupe leader videotaped rehearsal last night, I did a full body undulation and it looked like I was about to hurl. At least there's lots of room for improvement. And she did like the duet that I choreographed and am performing at the f...
