about me
What about me? I'm an average mother of a 23 year old male, except that I'd rather chill with people his age than my own. His friends are great and I love listening to them, being with them, discussing stuff with them, and partying with them.
I *love* to read and can usually tear through four or five books a week. Not great for my wallet, but very great for my mind (which has to stay busy or I get into large trouble). I don't watch TV very much: just a little Animal Planet now and then. One of the things that excites me the most these days is my son's production crew, Turntable Cooperative. It's a raver/party production crew with a number of good DJs, AWESOME sound , great lighting and special effects, etc. My son's DJ name is Zedd and he's trying to teach me to spin. When I'm finally good at it... well, look out all you ravers! EllyJ will be on the loose!

I'm supposedly "so over" TCO as a result of being uninvited to their last party at the dance studio. Now there's a party at said venue tomorrow night and I REALLY want to go. I've agreed to do ID check / wristband duty. So the frustration is this: I'm told I'm not welcome at TCO events by a couple people (who both retracted that statement within an hour or so) and right now TCO is *finally* getting some gigs and its proverbial shit together.

Turntable Cooperative rocked the Internet last night for over six hours. Several DJs were on hand, including MeWe, Zedd, Squeek and Tinker. You can hear TCO Live every Friday starting at 5:00 p.m. and going until 1) they get tired 2) they run out of records or 3) the neighbors complain. To get the music, go to Turntable Cooperative's website and click on TCO Radio. Follow the directions and you'll be tuned in.

Happy Friday the 13th! Too bad it's not Halloween on the 13th, but reversing the numbers of 31 brings up 13, so I guess it works okay. Lame, I know.

My 13th started off interestingly and has only gotten more weird as the day progresses. When I got up this morning I discovered Michael and five friends *still* huddled around the dining room table playing Magic from last night. I knew my mother would go ballistic when she got up, so I went back to bed. (Yes, basically, I hid.) When I we... read more
The Frustrations of Being "Over It"

I am here on tribe.net for two reasons (primarily): First, I want to promote the safe use of and access to medicinal cannabis. My own "dispensary" is in the planning stages right now, but with a radically different approach than I've ever seen anywhere else. The folks I've talked to about my vision have yet to find a down side for anyone, including the state/federal governments. At this point I'm working on my business plan and looking for venture capitalists. Got some good folks to mind to tap for $$, but a professional looking business plan is a must-have before I go knocking on doors. One of the coolest things about my idea is that literally anyone who wants to be a part of this can be. You don't need a prescription; you just need to be down with the cause and not completely mental or a career criminal. If you want a place in this organization, please contact me with your strengths and weaknesses, where you envision yourself in ten years, a detailed essay of how you feel about medical cannabis and why.
