I lived and climbed in Yosemite for a couple of years. Yosemite Valley and Joshua Tree have always been destinations that I wanted to hit for climbing.

A beautiful moonlight kayak past an erie old ship wreck sticking half way out of the water.

Crossed 45th parallels north and south, various dates
Hit the 45 Parallel North in northern Michigan and 45 Parllel South on the South Island of New Zealand.

Climbed/hiked Mt. Kinabalu, Malaysia 1999
Got to the summit just in time for clouds to roll in. Couldn't see a thing from the highest point in South East Asia.

At one point some dolphin streamed past us between the kayaks. The seals just soaked up the sun as we passed by the rocks on shore.

Took part in a Quemada, Madrid 2001
Quemada is a chant in Gaelic to ward away evil spirits. The chant is done while stirring a flaming alcoholic brew. Generally it was stirred by lifting a ladle full high into the air and allowing the liquid to fall in a flaming waterfall. After the chant you drink it.

I somehow made it out of high school with a diploma and put in two years at the Art Institute. I got a job the day of graduation. Didn't really stop working in the field until my road trips started. Now I have come back to it.

The Penan are one of the only nomadic jungle tribes left in the world today. One can't really make an appointment with nomads. It was a very random thing.

Left from Pittsburgh PA, hit the Pacific and turned around.

Saw penguins, seals and sea lions, NZ 2006
Sea life was everywhere there. The penguins looked like dark little ducks in the water. When they got close enough to shore they surprised us by just standing up and waddling to their nests.
