<div>No, really... anything...

They enjoy parsnips. And 3 day old cold french fries. They once broke into a cabinet and ripped open a bag of Barilla dried tortellini. And ate every last crumb.

Their favorite fare is fresh bread. They will jump on top of the refrigerator, rip open any bag that it is in, and chow down.

The latest culinary adventure though (and I'm not shittin ya here)...

a sponge -- a dirtyass, just scrubbed the oven with all sorts of solvents, sponge

The interesting tidbits...

When you fall in love, "exactly the same [part of the brain] becomes active as when you take cocaine. You can feel intense elation when you're in love. You can feel intense elation when you're high on cocaine."

Scientists then wondered: Does a brain in love look much like a sexually stimulated brain? After all, we associate love and sex and sometimes confuse them. The answer is: Brains in love and brains in lust don't look too much alike.

In the end, Drs. Fisher and Brown say what they learned from lovers' brains is that romantic love isn't really an emotion -- it's a drive that's based deep within our brains, right alongside our urges to find food and water.</div>

<div>8 tasty tidbits...

1. I've never traveled outside of the contiguous 48 states. Not for lack of wanting to though.
2. When I was in kindergarten, I won a big wheel race at my town's summer festival. That was the only physical competition I think I've ever won. I loved my big wheel.
3. I'm not a natural red head. It's really dark brown, although it hasn't been that way for at least 8 years.
4. When I retire, I want to be a librarian and read books to little kids. If libraries haven't become obsolete by then.
5. I love being in big open spaces. My favorite vacations have always been places where I can appreciate how big the world is, like the ocean or the mountains.
6. Like Aileen, I'm a crybaby too. I've shed tears at Michelen commercials with the little baby in the tire. I get it from my mom who ranks dramas and romance movies by how many klennexes she uses.
7. My name really is just Kim, not Kimberly or anything like that. But I like nicknames, especially Kimber.
8. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but it's the only other thing I can think to put right now... I have a third nipple. It's not really as interesting as it sounds; it just looks like a weird birth mark lump.

TAG! You're it...
1. Silence
2. Bliss
3. Ember
4. Tapan
5. Angela
6. Gina C

RULES - Once you've been tagged, you have to write a blog with 8 facts/things/habits about yourself, saying who tagged you. In the end you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. No tag backs.</div>

    </a>
<div>Questions from the Beautiful Miss Bliss...

1) Do like to bite?? be bitten?? (...i'm asking from an intellectual level, really)
When the mood strikes me I like to nibble, especially earlobes, and be nibbled upon. Although if someone asked me to bite harder, I'd certainly accomadate. ;)

2) What do you feel you are most passionate about?
This is an excellent question. In the last year or so, I have reawakened my passion, and now I'm so full of it, that it's exploding in all sorts of directions. I've been doing a lot of trying to figure myself out, what I love about life and how I can express that, and I how I fit into this world. I think I've figured it out; I am passionate about learning. I love to absorb as much information as possible. I'm lovin learning biology, bellydance, hooping, fire, knitting, snowboarding... so many things! I've turned on my childlike wonder of things again! Above all, I'm loving learning about myself. It has been an awesome journey to discover who I am.

Likewise, I also love teaching. Teaching biology has been the best job I've ever had cause it doesn't even feel like a job. And I think biology is the most awesome topic ever. How can people not love understanding how things live?

3) How has bellydance affected you? (gotta ask this one as you came to me looking for teachers in the bay and i wanna see how your doin'!!)
Bellydance is amazing! It's affected me in some expected and some unexpected ways. It's definitely boosted my confidence in all aspects of my life, even in things totally unrelated to movement. I really noticed it yesterday, when I taught a fresh batch of pre-med students. 23 new faces waiting for me to educate _and_ entertain them at 9am in the morning. I'm pretty good at the educating part, but not always the entertaining part unless I'm really comfortable, and I'm definitely not comfortable around that many new people. Bellydance gave me the confidence to be my goofy self right off the bat, and I think at least some of them were entertained.

The other unexpected side effect has been that I'm moving and dancing almost all of the time now. More than one person in the last week has said to me "Are you dancing?" and smiled. I was talking with one of my coworkers, and she asked what I was doing. I hadn't even realized it but I was practicing moving my hands elegantly. I dance in lab when no ones looking too.

4) Describe your most blissful snowboard run....details.
Ohh, this one is so easy! There is one run that stands out as the most unbelievable, exhilarating, exhausting, memorable run of my life. Matt and I were on vacation in Colorado at Keystone to snowboard with some of our friends. Compared to the epic season we were having in Tahoe, CO was so mediocre. On our second day there, we decided that, damn it, we flew all the way out here, we _are_ going to have an adventure. We left our friends to their mediocre time, and went as far back in the resort as we could, and this last lift had a bowl on either side. (For the trail map go to http://keystone.snow.com/info/trailmaps.asp. Our adventure was on the North Bowl of Wapiti Peak.) We planned to hike the rest of the way up to the top of the mountain and then around the edge of the bowl to the other side so that we could finally get some fresh, ungroomed powder with absolutely no one else around, because, really, who's stupid enough to do something like that? Luckily, at the top of the mountain, most of the snow had been blown off by the wind, so the snow wasn't too deep to hike. But we took off our boards and hiked through the snow at 12,000 feet for like 2 hours. By this time I was hungry (it was past lunchtime), and I had to pee. Ohh, and I forgot to mention that I had no idea how to ride powder. We started on our way down, and I fell like every ten feet. And now we're talking _really_ deep powder, where when you try to push yourself up your arms sink into the snow. Matt had ridden down below the tree line, and I was alone on this beautiful mountain, feeling totally dominated and exhausted by it. I yelled out of frustration as loud as I have ever yelled. And, lo, Matt was waiting for me behind the trees. He gave me a couple of pointers, I hoisted myself up, and I conquered that mountain. I rode that powder, and the rest of the run was some of the most beautiful terrain I have ever ridden. Through the trees, where not a single other rider had been since the last snowfall, and near the end of it, alongside a running creek. When we reached the groomed runs again, I just collapsed and felt the most awesome bliss. It was one of those moments in your life when you say to yourself "I really can do anything I put my mind to."

5) If you could see yourself living the most spectacular life you could in five years, how would that look?
If there were no limitations, I would see myself traveling the world, absorbing as much as humanly possible. I'd like to be one of the first space tourists, which I could see being a reality in about 5 years. I bet there is no more awe-inspiring sight than seeing Earth from space first-hand. That has got to change your perspective on things.

In reality, though, in five years I plan to still be totally infatuated and amazed by Matt. I'll have a bun in the oven, and I'll be teaching biology full-time. I'll still be learning about myself, and exploring all of my hobbies, including ones I haven't even thought of yet. So far, I've lead a pretty happy and content life, that has only increased in fullness and richness, and I plan on keeping that up for sure...

<div>I spun fire for the first time last night, and it was amazing. I'd had a lot of my preconceptions about fire broken already from hanging out with the SaDa Fuego crew, but it was so entirely different to be weilding it myself. I haven't been hooping for that long either, so I didn't try anything too crazy... at first. As the flames were dying down, I started moving the hoop, culminating in the "cheerleader." You know the move I'm talkin' about. Hoop around the neck, and pumping your arms through the hoop. I only wish I had done it earlier with more fire. It's definitely time to make my own fire hoop...</div>

<div>The Scandinavians have a lot of words describing alcohol induced emotions/states. Of course, there's the hangover (fylsyk), but there is fylangst, that regret you feel the day after drinking (Did I do something stupid last night when I was blacked out drunk? Who is this person next to me?) There is also the fear that you won't be able to find beer when you're out of town, which is olfrygt.</div>

A two-headed toddler died just before her second birthday. The Egyptian girl was born with a parasitic twin head attached to her own, the result of incomplete twinning. The parasitic head "was capable of smiling and blinking but not independent life." The girl survived the head's surgical removal a year ago, plus five additional operations to resolve complications.
