Me and my jumping stilts -- featured in a physics educational video on YouTube.

<div>(I also posted a version of this to the Poweriser tribe, buf figured others may be interested.)

I was recently visited by Dr. Tom Altman, a friend &amp; physics teacher from my former high school in Oswego, NY, who's on a 6 month sabattical, travelling the US and making science videos aimed at showing that physics happens outside of stuffy labs, and can be useful (even fun!) in everyday life.

Well, as you can well image, I had to show him my powerrisers (jumping stilts, for those who aren't familiar), and he loved 'em. So we shot a couple minutes of video down in Santa Cruz, while he explained a bit about the physics behind the springs.

Nothing fancy or daredevilish, but definitely fun to do, and another way to introduce people to the joys of jumping stilts. :-)

You can see the video Dr. Altman posted at http://youtube.com/watch?v=sxDOCTwIHGc or search for "Dr. Altman" on YouTube. He's got about 150 videos up there so far, and more every day or two. The other ones we helped with were the ones with Redwood Trees (The "Something AMAZING" video is shot in my yard), and the ones in San Francisco, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard St., and Exploratorium.

Enjoy! :-)
