I just wanted to say that Conchi is the greatest. She is my favorite instructor and she is my mentor. I have a great respect for Conchi. She is a beautiful dancer. I have never seen anyone who captures the emotion and the fire of the this dance but the one and only Conchi. She has been patient and she makes sure you get it right. She is inspiring.

If you have never seen a performance by Conchi Madson, you have really missed out. There is no dancer in Ohio that packs more into a dance than she can. She was given the nickname of “Little Package of Dynamite” many years before I saw her perform, but she still deserves it today. She has a wonderful stage instinct that is not easily learned. Off stage, as a teacher she is as patient and gentle as she is fiery and passionate on stage.
The adage “Those who can not perform, teach” does not apply to Conchi. She is gifted with both talents and uses them well. If you ever get the opportunity to attend a class or seminar where she is teaching you are assured to learn something valuable.

Today, my dear friend Salome' from Columbus, Ohio, passed away shortly after midnight. She was a dancer, performer, choreographer and the leading sponsor of seminars/shows in Columbus, Ohio . October 13, 2007 was her "Orientale Dance Symposium #XXVIII and her 5th Annual Recognition Awards. " I'm still in shock even though Salome' has been fighting cancer for almost 10 years! She was involved in Middle Eastern Dance for over 32 years teaching, performing and choreographing and was also the artistic director of Raks Shadan Troupe. I can't even describe all the awards and recognitions that she has received during her career as a Middle Eastern Dancer but the most important fact is how much she was loved and admired . I will miss our talks over the phone and I will miss her support and encouraging words. It was an honor to have shared our love for Middle Eastern Dance but most of all for bieng my FRIEND!

Please forgive my ignorance but what is the difference betweeen Regular Goth , Black Goth and White Goth Belly Dance??? One of my students asked the question and I didn't know what the answer was!!! Thansk much!!
