The New Year

Though I may be a bit bleary eyed at the moment (A wonderfully busy weekend)... I am most pleased with the way 2007 is starting... It seems as though the good feelings I had at the stroke of midnight were indeed an indicator of the path of this new year... I look forward with clarity and peace :-)

Well it is the last day of 2006. I can honestly say I am happy for it. I am very much looking forward to sending 2006 into the past, and ringing in 2007... which I know will be a better and brighter year. And how better to do so, than with some of my best friends :-)

Fog...

I discovered on a recent trip how amazing fog is... As I walked along the beach I saw it float in from out at sea... One by one, things would disappear into it.. until I could only see a small distance all around me... As I walked along, things and people would materialize, and then recede again into the fog... sea birds, children, surfers, and even a woman practicing ballet. It was magical... The sun was still high in the sky, but the fog so filtered the light in a such a way...It was hard to describe.. So even though, I was in a fog, I saw things with a clarity and vibrance... As I walked on, the fog began to lift.. revealed my world, one thing at a time.. It really made me think of how similar that is to certain times in our lives... a fog descends upon us.. at first we are afraid, disoriented.. then soon, we begin to see it in a mystical way... we are forced to take one step at a time..to look closer around us, instead of so far out.... we see things in new ways, we see that the fog has filtered the sunlight.. not taken it away.. filtered it in such a beautiful way.. a way which gives even the ordinary things, a magical look... And, the best part of all, is that as the fog receeds... the world seems much brighter, and even more vibrant than before..

I went to Cairo Carnivalle this year and had an awesome time! I didn't get to watch much performing, as I was either in workshops, or shopping :-)

Suhaila's workshops were awesome. Her layering workshop was the most challenging for me.

Marguerites, "Finding you center" workshop was very beneficial to me. I actually discovered my "chi", and how it felt coming from my the palms of my hands :-)

I bought my very first real costume! I can't wait to get it all put together :-)
