I've had a few emails about the pictures posted about fun in the snow. There were a lot of positive comments, but also questions. first, Yes. they have some idea what they are doing. second, no, they are not 'equals'. They are both students. One just getting back into practice that needs to work out the rust, the other a fairly novice student with good instincts that likes beating up boys. third, yes, it really is snowing and cold out, yes, I am not wearing gloves or other cold weather gear, please notice the bundled appearance of my students for proof of the temperature. As I'm sure many of you know, 28f isn't bad at all if you are moving around. The snow pictures weren't meant to brag as though "hey look at us, we're all tough practicing in the snow", it was more just meant to be fun playing in the snow while getting some practice in. Any other questions, feel free to either comment, or just email. have a nice day

Snow and wind have definitely picked up. Reverse rearhand grip. Only took photos a few more minutes after that because lisa left with her camera. Continued sparring for another 30-45 minutes or so. Very nice snowfall during remainder. fun. No one could make it for today once the snow had built up unfortunately.
fun in the snow, three.

A momentary pause in the snow fall. One of the few clear pictures, need a much better camera for action shots. 28 F, but little wind, just snow.

about me
To describe something reveals the bias of the describer. With that in mind. I'm a jaded intellectual who kept procrastinating instead of actually doing many of the things I've meant to do for years, I'm trying to change that, not always succeeding, but trying. I've moved away from the intelligentsia that I used to find so fascinating and only occasionally dabble with a single group. I now spend most of my time working on projects, reading, and working on my martial arts. I've been studying martial arts for 20 years, and have been attempting to make a 'system' of combat that is modern, functional, and yet, isn't just a matter of being more enduring than your opponent, but being more skilled to the point where you can reliably feel safe as opposed to most systems at the moment, where it always seems to be a trade. I think trading is unreliable, and there are some things you just can't take reliably and expect to continue. I've got a heavy background in aikijujutsu and Taijutsu(amoung others), some of the original mixed martial arts in my opinion(they are full range styles dealing with unarmed and weapons from before the time when everything split up into ranges for sporting purposes). I've done some MMA work, and think it's great as a sporting dueling style. I've got an interest in physics and applied math(though I'm bad at both), and am attempting to studying german from computer programs. If you made it through all this. Hi. I'm Damion. Nice to meet you. Hope you'll say Hi back.
