I write this testimony to both David and Diane because I feel the same way about both of them. They wear their inner child on the outside. I always feel happy and playful when I'm with them. They are an amazing dance instruction team. Unending patience and encouragement. Such a pleasure to be their student and friend. They don't just teach me how to dance, they teach me how to express my feelings with my body. I get excited just THINKING about my next dance lesson!! With appreciation and gratitude, you inspire me.

Jack of all trades....or crow? I see shiny things and I want them. I don't mean cars or new gadgets. I mean if I see great dancing, I want to be able to do it too. If I see magic, I want to learn. So I spin poi and some staff, I stilt walk and partner dance, I play piano and wooden flutes and can perform some card tricks and make a silk disappear and program websites and write poetry and cook and on and on, and I'm not an expert at any of these things but I do them as well as I can. And inevitably I return to the role as teacher, and I seem to have infinite patience with which to share what I've learned, to reveal the insights I've gained, to help others see life a bit more fully or embrace what they do with more depth. So lately I teach dance and poi and sometimes math, and mostly that's good enough for me.
I really want to go to Shambhala this year - my heart is more and more set on it the more I consider it!
Is anyone driving?
I'll drive, I'll help navigate, I'll help with gas. Then I imagine I'll disappear into a dance-wild ecstasy before finding you again on the way home. Or we'll cross paths and dance and it will be wonderful too!
I can go Wed or Thurs, and return....Mon? I'm flexible!

I went to Just Dance on Friday. I walked into that space with an open mind, and with as open a heart as I seem to be able to manage these days. And something in the space and in me and in the people there really blossomed into an incredible experience!

For the New Year, I really want some New Art for my humble two person dance company, Night and Day Dance. I can doodle, but my drawings don't translate very well to anything other than the scraps of paper they're on, and I just can't achieve the sort of emotional impact I'd like to.

I've been spinning poi, off and on, for almost five years. In that time there have been many dry spells, and often no one I knew to give me pointers or show the way. I used the internet to learn, back in the pre-Youtube era when poi clips were 10 seconds of someone's hands doing the weave. There were no tutorials then.

We've found it! Our new home!
Apparently we had to give up all images of our current home and neighborhood, strike out a bit further....east.... and that was enough. Today we viewed a place that felt suitably funky, artsy, and filled with potential, and while we were biking back west, the landlord called and asked us if we wanted to come back and sign.
