mulberrys for breakfast, anyone?

A mulberry tree in our backyard has decided to grow the largest, most delightful fruit it possibly could - and place them within reach. The branch is covered with mulberries most of which are as big around as my index finger. The branch is long and swoops down to touch the ground so we have to bend down to pick most of the fruit and it spreads out over about 10 feet so there are TONS of berries within reach - the photo shows just a smal part of the larger branch. I wonder if the tree likes us and did this on purpose??? John and I have been in this spot for about 12 years now and a number of mulberry saplings have grown up around us and are also producing fruit. They seem to be fairly prolific and that is a good thing..... (looks down at purple stained hands) thanks gaia :-)

That's so awesome. Mulberries are a lovely diversion from the normal berries. I have a mulberry tree behind the house. It produces just a few handfuls a year.

YUM
I'd LOVE a sapling or two for my yard. Are you going to make something yummy like pie?

Alygirl - no pies, just several really nice breakfast treats :-) I just like getting a handful off the tree and eating them right there. I will look to see if there are any saplings around - if so, I will contact you so you can come get one.
