<div>So remember the post I sent out in June? the one asking everyone to come out &amp; donate your hair to a worthy cause? I finally got my copy of the pics and wanted to share -
My hair was almost- to- my-rear-end length, and my pony tail donation measured almost 12" - I had a cute little bob once I was done, and the Monday after the donation, I went to my regular hair dresser for an even shorter cut!! It's about 2" or so now and so much cooler!
Thanks to all the folks that came &amp; donated their hair and time to such a wonderful event!</div>

<div>Wow, did anyone else hear Europe's song in their head?
There are only a few more days until the Kindest Cut event at La Bella Uptown - I am donating my ENTIRE pony tail and going short &amp; sassy for the summer. I hope my pony will be in a wig for a NM cancer patient...
My daughter has agreed to part with some of her hair, too (all that beautiful, thick, blonde hair!) and I am so proud of her!
Just to remind you:
La Bella Salon Uptown, Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 9 am to noon. The salon is offering a 25% discount off their $45 haircut for those of you who would like to get your hair styled the day you donate. We will have music, dancing, refreshments! Under 18 donations are welcome with a parent or guardian. Men welcome as well!
I truly hope to see some of our amazing community gather to help our sisters in need!
Love,

<div>Some of you may not know, but I belong to a service-oriented sorority, and our service project this year is arranging the largest hair-cutting/donation party we can...I would be honored to have as many of the beautiful belly dancers participate as possible...additional info below:

Please join us in making the kindest cut of all for Pantene Beautiful Lengths June 22, 2008 9am at the amazing La Bella at ABQ Uptown.
Preceptor Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi soroity along with La Bella Spa and Salon will be hosting a cutting event for Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a charity campaign created by Pantene in partnership with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) that encourages people to grow, cut and donate their healthy hair to create real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
Nearly 700,000 American women will be diagnosed with cancer in 2007 and one in three women will develop some form of cancer in her lifetime. These statistics make it abundantly clear that cancer will affect each one of us in some way. Hair loss, one of the most common side effects of cancer treatment, can be especially traumatic for women fighting cancer. A woman's hair is an incredible instrument of self expression. It defines her self-image in a way that almost no other physical attribute can. A recent study revealed that 58 percent of women consider hair loss to be the worst side effect when undergoing chemotherapy; 8 percent of these women are at risk of avoiding potentially life-saving treatment.
Once Pantene Beautiful Lengths receives a donation, it is sent to the leading global producer of real-hair wigs and extensions, HairUWear. Donations are then transformed into high-quality, hand tied, real-hair wigs. It takes six to eight ponytails to make just one wig. The free wigs are then distributed through the American Cancer Society's extensive network of wig banks across the country.
Whether your hair is ready to donate now, or you need some time to grow it, here are some essential hair donation requirements you need to know before making the cut.
1. Donated hair must be a minimum of 8 inches long
2. Hair cannot be bleached, permanently colored or chemically treated. Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes.
3. Hair cannot be more than 5 percent gray.
4. Wavy or curly hair may be straightened before measuring.
For more information on this event please contact Elisa Trillanes at 269-2503 or Elisa@Trillanes.com. (you can pm me, too)

<div>hi all, thought i would share with those of you who do not know: i found a lump in my breast about 3 weeks ago. i have since had another mammogram (fun squishy!) and an ultrasound (not too bad, lots of lube...), which brought me to the needle biopsy yesterday. i thought i was going to puke when i saw the size of the biopsy needle! that sucker is HUGE!!! lucky for me, i had a great tech and doc, both of whom were just kind and patient with me. not that i visibly freaked, but well, THIS IS MY BOOB! and i am very attached to it!
so, as tom petty says, "the waiting is the hardest part..." and i should find out by monday what my results are. please pray for me, that i can handle whatever this is.
and check your girls!
