Blah, Blah, Blah

I just spent nearly three weeks in New Mexico and Mexico working on a documentary of two border towns there. I blogged a whole bunch while I was there and Tumbleweed Tales of the Southwest is now complete. Hundreds and hundreds of people every day leave Mexico from this part of the border in hopes of successfully crossing into the U.S. I got a chance to meet some of theses people and speak with them. I also got a glimpse of what this journey entails, which includes border bandits and mile... read more

The show was awesome! I did not move to the finals, but it was still a great night nonetheless. It was very surreal and a little nervewrecking to see something you wrote acted out on a stage in front of a crowd of people. The place was standing room only! I was really impressed with the work of the other playwrights and felt honored to be in their company. Congrats to Josh Pangborn whose spoof on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood won the highest of the audience's approval.

Well, it is here. A short play I wrote and directed is up first tonight in a series of four chosen to compete in a monthly series in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. One last rehearsal this afternoon and we are set to go. Who is my competition? A couple of seasoned professionals and a recent college grad. One guy is playing Vin Diesel's Dad in an upcoming flick. Yeah, well, I'll drink whiskey straight from the bottle.

I'm:

A. Excited
B. Nervous
C. Curious
D. All of the above

The bastards did it! The entire New York City subway and bus system has officially walked off the job and the system is completely shut down. It is currently 22 degrees outside and thousands of people may attempt to get to work by other modes......i.e. walk, bike, carpool, etc. I will not be one of these people. I have no intention of joining the chaos that is currently unfolding as we speak. Auto traffic will give the word gridlock a whole new meaning and the local news advises us to ge... read more

Well, it looks like I will be able to make it to work after all today. The full-scale strike of the NY City subway and bus system did not happen as possibly thought, despite the labor union and the MTA's (Metropolitan Transit Authority) lack on any sort of agreement at midnight last night. At
12:01 am last night, the transit workers labor contract expired and negotiations this week have been tense to say the least on agreeing on new terms for a renewed contract. I had a hard time believi... read more
