Help us find a wedding spot

   Mon, November 19, 2007 - 4:33 PM
Hi All,

Josh and I could use a bit of your collective wisdom. We're looking for the perfect spot to get married and have a wicked fun wedding party, and we thought you might have a good idea. Basically, we're looking for a place that can fit about 150 people, has room for dancing, eating, lots of electric music and serves wicked good food or will let you bring in your own wicked good food. Something not too expensive would be good too. An empty barn on pretty land would be perfect. We really want to avoid having a tent if possible and we're looking for something funky that's out of the city but not too far away from an airport and our house. Like within a 1-2 hour radius of Boston.

fruitlands?
Hey! My cousin got hitched at Fruitlands, about an hour west of beantown, (right off route 2 in Harvard)
www.fruitlands.org/overview.php
i know the price was decent, the food delish', with gorgous outdoor ceremony-valley-overlook sites and indoor dining/dancing - she even had a kinda punk/goth decor all around, so they must be kinda flexlble on all that - it was a transcendentalist commune to begin with, with a funky history...(the commune failed, as writings record, since they were all intellectuals but no skilled farmers! )
its bbbbbeautiful there - anyways, just an idea.
CONGRATS, and Have Fun carousing for a spot!

i could always
ask up at the orchard. they have no indoor stuff. but .... i shot photos at one this spring, they had the wedding in the blossoms and rented a tent for the field near the pond.

it's under one hour from boston.

otherwise, the lyman estate wedding this summer was nice. mansion. outside. nice yard. bunnies everywhere....
