LOCATION: Oakland, my favorite city. Just 20
minutes from Downtown San Francisco. If
you know the town, I'm around the corner
from the fabulous old Grand Lake Theater.

CAREER: Teacher, since I was 21 years old. Some
people get to love what they do for a living,
and I'm one of them. I recently left teaching
drama to work one-on-one with at-risk kids.

RACE: Irish/Melungeon -- a multiracial ethnic group:
white, Black, American Indian, mediteranian and
Sephardic Jewish. I'm essentially Irish on the
outside and Melungeon on the inside.

RELIGION: I am a devout Humanist, which means
my sense of spirituality is invested in the
betterment of life in the here and now, with
no need of a supreme being. I am also
drawn to Judaism, but perhaps that is more
cultural than theological. Any form of religious
fundamentalism has no place in my life.
