Akula Tribal Bellydance is Christine Tillett and Maxine Brennan, who are both certified FCBD Teachers and Sister Studios.
We formed Akula Tribal on 5th May 2009 basically because we so enjoy dancing together and are the best of friends. Maxine has been bellydancing for 11 years and Christine for 8 years firstly learning and performing Cabaret, then tribal fusion and finally discovering pure ATS about 3 years ago. We both remember seeing FatChanceBellydance performances for the first time on youtube and being completely blown away by the beauty of this style. We are lucky enough to have been trained by some of the best teachers in the world and now enjoy sharing our knowledge and our dance with our own students. If we had to list all of the positive things that ATS has brought into our lives it would be endless, but the most special thing we can think of is that it has brought the most wonderful people into our lives who we may not have met otherwise!!... Well it's only 12 days until myself, Maxine (my wonderful Akula dance partner) and our lovely friends Lisa & Kirsty of Usha Oseye get on the plane from Heathrow-Helsinki-Pori in Finland for TT and let me tell you we are all beside ourselves with excitement!!!....It will be great to finally meet Hannele and Tiina who have organised the gathering and have kept us up to date with everything.
