I am a geek who enjoys to playing. Beyond merely playing in the standard sense (for instance I like playing games (strategy, word, card, etc.)) I enjoy anything from deliberate sillyness (think in terms of the rules of calvinball, both explicit and implicit), to playing outdoors (in the snow, the woods, the sun, the rain), to experimenting with things technical and artistic such as photography or mathmatical art. I enjoy constructing, fixing and breaking things. I take a special pleasure in teaching computers to do my bidding.

I try to get around by bicycle whenever possible because I feel more comfortable that way. It feels better than driving or walking or taking the subway. It's not necessarily for the environment or for fitness or costs (though these are clear benefits and I appreciate them), I just like it more. For some reason this is becoming more important to me than when I originally wrote this paragraph many moons ago. While I still possess a car, I have almost completely converted over to a car free lifestyle. I drive about once or maybe twice a month to go out of state (or at least out of town). I have a subway pass that is provided by my employer that I might use once or twice a month when I'm out with friends. Other than that I bike wherever I go.
