Normally, I don't like my personal life to intrude here too much--this site is for promoting my work, but today the whistling in the air has gotten louder, and the shadow growing around my feet is looking distinctly anvil-shaped. So, I feel like sharing one of my little pleasures in life with anyone who happens by.
There's a Buddha on the concrete floor of the back stockroom where I work. Worked. Whatever. And through the last few years, which have been fairly stagnant for me (not for lack of trying to make the water move) whenever I happened to glance down and see that round belly with its obvious navel, unapologetic man boobies, and rays of stained Buddha-ness spreading out in all directions, it made me smile. If only just a little.
So, please, enjoy the Buddha.
