This past weekend, I participated in the 48 Hour Film Project with Montage Productions. All films produced over the weekend were required to have:

  • the character Mayo or Maggie Logan, a chef;

  • a jar of coins; and
  • the line, "Call me as soon as you hear anything."
Additionally, each team draws a random genre for their film. We drew "Superhero."

I helped out in the initial creative writing work, lighting design, camera operations, acting, and post-production--a lot more than I initially thought I would be doing, especially with someone with no prior experience! The forty-eight hours was a whirlwind blur of frenzy, filming, and illegal double-parking, but it was amazing to see how much AND how little work actually went into making a film. Another outlet for those ideas that have been piling up.

The film made by our team can be seen here.

Lowe's Self-Checkout with A, San Bruno

Staples Entrance, South San Francisco

Target Entrance, Colma. I swear these are HD monitors.

Target Customer Service Counter, Colma. I'm not sure what this camera is for since there is nothing to steal. Maybe customers get a little "overzealous" returning items?
