Hifi and Hawaii RED Magazine present... Green Style on the Big Isle in Kona! (events » arts) Friday, April 10, 2009 - 6:00 PM 2 RSVPs Join the Hawaii Fashion Incubator (Hifi) and Hawaii RED Magazine for a weekend celebrating sustainable & homegrown fashion on the Big Island! The event, scheduled in Kailua-Kona April 10-11 and sponsored by go! Airlines, is Hifi’s second annual eco-fashion weekend. It will introduce Hifi to the Big Island community, promote collaboration and commerce between O‘ahu and Big Island designers and businesses, and raise awareness for the local fashion industry.

Friday April 10th from 6-8 pm at Mixx Bistro in Kona, Hifi will host an invitation-only VIP reception for members of the local fashion industry featuring a panel discussion by prominent professionals from across Hawai‘i. From 8 pm-1:00 am, the public is invited to the Organik and Greendrinks-sponsored “Greendrinks Green Style” after-party to dance, mingle, and learn more about the local fashion industry and Hifi’s efforts.

Saturday April 11th Hifi presents the ECOmarket and fashion show at the NELHA Gateway renewable energy center, sponsored by Kona Deep Seawater and SOKO Coffee. The ECOmarket will feature local & sustainable designers and businesses, including Meesah, Soozou, Diamondhead Road, Hana Naia, HI State of Mind, Urban Jungle, & Organik. At 2 pm Hifi will stage a fashion show styled by Hy Tec Salon and spun live by DJ Rhythmstar. ECOmarket is free and open to the public from 12-5 pm. Organik, HonuGuide, and Nella Media Group will host an Ecolounge after-party from 8pm-1:00am at Mixx Bistro (21+ over).
