about me
I have had a passion for dance and gymnastics all my life. I used to be considered quite the little scandal as a child, dancing in a family that did not believe this to be an appropriate outlet for creativity. As gymnastics was appropriate, I excelled at this (sneaking in dance as part of the training) until injuries ended the gymnastic dreams. Many years later (after college, marriage, and children), while wacking a poor young man with a sword at SCA fighter practice, I was re-introduced to formal dance in the form of Near Eastern dance and my Alma and friend, Mellilah of Davenport Iowa. Thank you, Mellilah, for saving me from a tepid existence!

My Blog
Well, things have kinda exploded in a good way in this ol'girl's life. I am now teaching three days per week -- Two at the Institute of Therapeuitc Massage in Davenport and one at Indigo Yoga and Wellness in Moline. I just started my own website, too!!! You can look it up on www.lunabonita.net. It's still in the formation stage, but I hope to have it up and fully functioning with the month!!

I am very excited to announce I will be teaching in two locations in 2008! On Thursdays, I will be teaching at the Institute of Therapeutic Massage -- beginners at 6:15pm and intermediate at 7:30pm. On Fridays, I will be teaching beginners at Indigo Yoga and Wellness -- class begins at 5:45.

The Parra Workshop in Iowa City this past weekend was wonderful. I was only able to attend the Saturday session due to other issues in life (bah!), but enjoyed the challenge. The footwork was tough for me, but after taking my usual "7 hours" to mentally digest it, I think I can actually do it. Thanks to Kahraman Studio and Maleeha for bringing this wonderful opportunity to the masses!
