Dick Cravens, Mike Robertson and I have been squeezing sound out of the most unlikely places and formed a little group we're calling "Hormone Junkies." Dick C, Mike R and I practiced on Saturday for about 4 hours. Totally cool. We're starting to get the MIDI clocking ironed out and the beats/grooves that Dick is providing sound awesome. It's all coming along wonderfully. The textures that Mike has been producing on the lap steel guitar are insane and when he picks up the mandolin - well, it's downright beautiful at times! It's Tuesday morning and this is the second day in a row that I've called in sick to work. I'm actually not feeling well, but it's not medical - it's emotional. I hate my job. I really hate it. And what's more is that I find that I like hating it. The negativity fuels that hatred and it just continues to grow and grow. The cycle must come to an end. Aw, come on..."Lady Sings the Blues"? Well, I ain't no lady, I can sing, but that's not all I can do, and the Blues are best done by those who can't escape them. I choose to transcend them.
