Scarlett was born on my birthday on 19 May 1997. Yesterday, a day that was supposed to be a happy birthday ended up being one of the worst days ever. Scarlett died in my arms. She raised her little nose and touched my cheek and laid her head on my chest and died. Needless to say I am devastated. She was a constant companion. She went camping in the Trinity Alps on Labor Day every year from age 4 months. Everyone that met her; adored her.

Almost had 5 inches of rain in the past nine days. When I looked out the window this morning and saw sun, I knew that I would be heading to the beach. During the Summer, when the weather is nicer, I always go to Baker Beach near Trinidad, Ca. (roughly 300 miles north of San Francisco in the beautiful Redwoods.
