I've just finished reading some books in a series by Eric Flint. The first book is "1632."

It starts with the supposition that a small West Virginia coal mining town, from the year 2000, gets transported through time and space to Thuringen, Germany in the year 1632 (Thus the title). I have enjoyed the series quite a lot and recommend them to all my friends and acquaintances as works worthy of their time if they like the Science Fiction genre--which I know most of them do.

Cut it into scales and lacquer them then make a lamellar armor with them. Interspersed with steel, or brass, scales you can get a very decorative effect to the finished armor.

Indeed. Capt. Jack likes licking strawberries. He doesn't bite them to eat them he just rasps them to pulp and eats them that way.
