I've had the good fortune to retire at a young age (relatively speaking) and now I'm having a frick'n blast discovering new passions (like hooping), adventures and meeting new and interesting people throughout the world. It's been great to call San Francisco -- one of the best cities in the world -- home for the past 35 years. And now that I'm retired, I'm busy rediscovering San Francisco neighborhood by neighborhood.

My Playa name ***Moonshine*** represents many of my preferences, pleasures, and experiences. While being a total outdoorsman and a great lover of sunshine, I'm typically a night owl and love activities that use and celebrate the glow, color, and light of the moon. I love night dives when the moonshine lights up the underwater world. I'm one of the night owls in our Burningman camp and with a camp name like Celestial Bodies, moonshine fits right in. During my working career I traveled the world extensively and had the pleasure of tasting many local producers' moonshine, which often was more like white lightning that took some getting use to. One my greatest pleasures is soaking in a hot tub or preferably a natural hot spring under the beautiful glow of the moon. And last but not least, I'm not embarrassed to "moon" a friendly face when the mood stikes me (or the person is deserving). ; )

And now that I've started hooping (and being both a father and a grandfather), some of my friends have (lovingly) started calling me Hoop Daddy. Reckon I can live with that too.

That said, my parents named me Steve and I happily embrace my given name.
