This is the remains of one of the landing gear assemblies. It's a pretty large, and strong piece.

Here's a wrecked engine. The desert preserves metal objects. The prop had been ripped off, the aluminium heads melted away, and all the rubber pieces vaporized.

Planning a grimm hike..

I'm planning to hike Mt. Potosi, on the Southwest side of the Las Vegas Valley. In '42 Carole Lombard perished in this plane wreck: in the subsequent entries, which could easily have been avoided had the pilot had adjusted his altimeter properly....
