I'm a perpetual student, currently doing post-graduate work in Religious Studies. With any luck, I'll be starting my doctorate in September '08. My focus is on phenomenology of religion, neo-paganism, critical theory of magic, history of witchcraft, ritual studies, and nature-based religious movements.

I devote most of my energy outside school to bellydancing. I started taking classes in June of '06 and I'm constantly working on honing my technique and branching out into many different styles. So far I've had training in American Vintage Oriental, Uzbek/Bellydance fusion, and Improv Tribal Style, with a smattering of Turkish Oriental and Turkish Romany. I'm looking to learn more about tribal fusion, and traditional Romany, Uzbek and Turkish folk dancing.

I knit to unwind, and am a hopeless yarn addict. I love creating things, and I work on making my own costumes whenever possible, despite my lack of sewing skill. Music is also a deep love of mine - my collection includes a very wide variety ranging from folk music to classical to operatic metal.

I'm a compulsive LARPer, and am very happily handfasted.
