about me
I just refuse to grow up ! I am a 65 yr old, acitve woman. Been belly dancing about 7years now, beginning with Cabaret style in Las Vegas, and recently went back to ATS with Wildcard Bellydance in Rohnert Park, Calif. For the previous year did Eygptian traditional and belonged to the troupe Moondance with Judith Light. Took dance classes since a kid, off and on, was a disco queen in the late 70's, and had ballet, jazz and hula years ago. I'm a horsewoman, but my old mare died about 2 years ago.so . I started making fusion type yarn belts, and mozuna ropes about a few years ago, and been selling them to other dancers and classmates. Its almost like a meditation when I'm braiding a belt --- just love it. . Married the Love of My Life this past May, and he enjoys and supports my dancing. Been a horse lover and rider most of my life, but can't afford my own anymore since I retired. I am taking lessons on a Peruvian Paso horse, using the traditional Peruvian equitation when I can, and belong to the Wine Country Peruvian Paso Club now! I started volunteer teaching at the local 'Senior' center last year, trying to spread the joy -- and it is a joy seeing 70 ish or older women giving it their best!

Re: People talking about you??? (in bellydance crones) I have had some responses to me bellydancing ( starting at 59 now 65). I can always tell when people are uncomfortable with it, because they just smile meekly and don't know what to say. The ones who are cool, and cheering me on, will do just that... read more

Re: Shorter Hair & Egyptian? (in Short Belly Hair) I just started to grow mine out again, from a chin length A line cut --- chic and all, but i wnat more of a flowing mane for performing. My hair is very fine, straight and it grows reallllly slowly. AND, I'm letting my silver roots grow in. All on... read more

Re: what to do with grey roots? (in Makeup and Hair for Dancers) I agree about dark or red being too harsh -- that is why I stopped being auburn at one point in my late 40s - I'm now a youthful 65, and my hair is naturally platinumish silver. But, when I was in my late forties, I kicked the red by going ash bl... read more
