BDSS - How awesome!!
Thu, November 1, 2007 - 4:06 PMThe tribal dancers, however were my favorite. Rachel Brice has been one of my favorites and really the only famous tribal dancer I knew anything about. NOW, I have some new favorites too!! Zoe with her pop and locks, totally awesome. But, I think my absolute fav is Mardi Love. Her facial expressions are killer. She loves every minute of dancing and you can tell. Regarding the red tights, they were okay, but the boots are hot. I really would like to have a pair. If anyone knows were to get them, please let me know.
I am so thankful that Candi was there to point some things out for me that I would have never noticed. Like the keys on the back of Mardi's top and that when all of the dancer were together, they were doing the same moves except in their style of dance. Also, the counting of the drum beats, over my head. I didn't have a clue. Candi was helping me make the connection. Thanks Candi!!!
My first BDSS show was absolutely worth missing class and I love going to class. This was a field trip I will never forget!!

I am glad that I was able to help. It felt good to be able to share something with someone that knew less than I did, I never get to teach someone else, I am the one usually asking the questions.. I was afraid that I was getting irritating...

It was def cool watching Zoe (she was on our side) in the big finale number - as you said, doing all the same moves as the cabaret girls, but with just subtle differences like hands and head positions....
I also loved the way it was like the dark queen mothas taking over the stage from the fairies every time the tribal crew came out! So much better than last year when we just got the two dancers (Kami and Moria) - they were great, but having the group tribal numbers was just awesome! and that RB playing card was totally worth almost getting arrested over - lol! |

No way, Candi. I love to learn new things especially regarding bellydancing. Feel free to give me any and all info you can. A person will stop growing if they stop learning. And I ain't grown yet!! LOL!!

Sandee, have I told you how much I love you?? Thanks bunches for the boot link. Now I have to plan ways of getting some Fluevogs and some NewRocks. Hrmm, is pimping really all that immoral?
Anywho, I agree once again that the show was amazing. This was my first as well, and you nailed it, Donna... I wish had multiple sets fo eyes too! As for the red tights, I've said it before that I am a fan of them. They allowed you to see the legs without them being bare. Maybe the reason the red was a good call in my opinion is it really adds to the period-ness of the piece. I don't think any other color would have aided the vaudevillian look. I'm a total vaudeville nut after doing a paper on it, so this may just be me being an uber geek. |
