Eating from the Tree of Life
Sun, July 1, 2007 - 11:34 AMI have joined the Tree Of Life rejuvenation center (AKA The Tree) to work and study for the summer. The Tree is a spiritual and raw food community in Arizona. In the past week I have worked by: building an amphitheater, sprouting seeds, gardening vegetables, and creating live cuisine. Through this work, I am beginning to discover the AMAZING POWER of a live food lifestyle and plan to share these lessons as collect more info in the weeks to come. In addition to the knowledge gleaned from my hard work, I have made my journey an opportunity to study the intricacies in a small spiritual community and how the sustainable practices here (and other "eco-village" communities) can be extrapolated to function in an larger urban environment.
The Arizona desert may feel harsh, but is truly a magnificently clean and beautiful environment. Everyone is very loving and extremely knowledgeable, making for greatly stimulating interaction with others. After the initial detox from the poisons in putrid cooked foods, I could not believe the infusion of jet fuel energy I received, like my ability to awake at 5 in the morning to make sun salutations for sunrise. I must get back to the kitchen now... I hope all of this is intriguing and encourages all to check into the power and value of live foods, or at least tune in for my next installment...
May you all live with universal love,
Namaste

Glad too hear you landed well. Have you heard the fads are requiring all almonds to be pasteurized starting next month?

I love the tree
I lived there as a land steward for a good portion of last year. I found all of the people there as well as the natural and man made environments to be most hospitable and helpful to me. Climb red mountain if you have not already and say hello to Gooch for me.
