My Blaaaaag

In the prairie dog town just outside my studio window it's spring cleaning time. Dig out the burrows and get ready for summer--looks like they know something.

Okay, so after a few years it's time to change to a new motorbike. Trading with the wife, she gets something vrrooomy-new and I get her "old" ride, the ST1300. Same bike I tried to get in '04 but dealers didn't have in stock, so "had" to get the R1150RT. Not a bad problem to have. To me the ST is brand new and all perfectly broken in. Whee!
Now all I have to do is sell the BMW...and give up all the t-shirts and schwag that had the Rondel on it for the Honda red wings. So long $700 oil change... read more

Re: Previous blog entry. Scuffed more off of the right valve cover upon laying the bike down in a low speed skid on icy patch just west of the Continental Divide down from Monarch Pass. Replaced the spark plug cover ($7.20 plus tax) and looks almost good as new. We'll make it all spiffy by replacing the valve cover at the 30K service interval.

This (in hindsight) would have saved the right cylinder head cover from damage in the tip over last Sunday just south of Kansas Settlement. Available from A&S BMW for about $122 USD plus shipping.
