This is about my cat

My sweet baby was just diagnosed with kidney failure. I will have to put him down soon. It's a very sad day. I have loved my boy for almost ten years now, he makes up a perfect trio with my two girls. Every day they follow me into the bathroom and I turn the tub on for him so he can drink his fresh water that he likes. He's a priss who keeps immaculately clean and only lets you pet him if you've washed your hands, he smells divine. He lets you know when things aren't quite right and lets out a big "YAWL" . He's very strong and perches rather than being held, it's difficult holding him now that he is so weak. He is the gentlest soul I have ever met, kind and soft and when playing with him, he makes sure to never over reach. My dear Max your sweet kisses will be missed, your crooked little tail, your big white paws, my big boy. Max, Maxwell, Mr pink paws, seven of three, Mister, head of the house we love you, there will never be another like you with your grace.

sending you courage
Honey, I'm so sorry. I've been through this a couple of times, and it's so hard to face. I know you're making this as gentle as possible for your sweet boy, and for that he is grateful. Just remember that the last goodbye is inevitable, and you gave him a life of love and compassion. Courage and love to you, girl.

hey honeybun. i'm so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. he must have done some seriously good deeds in his past life to have been blessed with ten years in your loving care. the park avenue kitties (simon, hedward and heiko) send out a big ol' "YAWL" to you and Mr. Max.

Oh, sorry to hear, I know how special our kitties are - has your vet talked to you about subcutaneous hydration? I have friends who gave their puss with renal failure two extra years of quality life by doing that.

Sweet Julie: I am so sorry to hear about your darling Maxwell. I have been through this myself with my own kittybabies and I know how hard it is. I lost two of mine, Zippy-Tuna and Last One, to kidney failure and watching them get thinner and weaker just breaks your heart. What a beautiful boy he is, and how lucky he's been to spend his life with you as his Mama. Cody and I will have you and your boy in our prayers.

heartstrings pulled
sorry Julie about your babe... I know there are certified people that will come to your home, instead of having to take them on a scary trip to the vet... that is what I did when I had to put my kitty Fender down due to organ failure after a amazing 24 years... it was really peaceful for both of us, not rushed, as she always freaked out when we went to the vet... thinking of you and your Max...big hugs.

My Pika too had kidney failure, I had to put him down the day before leaving for BRC in '05.

My heart goes out to you!
