4-Wheeler Crash

   Wed, July 19, 2006 - 6:09 AM
Friday I went 4-wheeling with a friend, all day. It was a blast. We don't run them fast, just cruise the woods, fields and by the river. We rode up to a small beer retailer for a 12 pk. and in front of her store is a gravel lot. So I turned the handles just enough to spin the back tires to the right and BAM, the damn thing didn't turn but threw me in the air and I landed on my right side. Hit the gravel bad with my head, bruised up my elbow, hip & hand.

I'm used to riding a all-terrain 4-W'er and this one I was on that day was a 2007 Sports model. Wow, what a difference. It wants to rare-up and feels like it going to tip all the time. And yeah, it doesn't do side spins either.

I lay there on the gravel and can feel the blood gushing down past my ear to the back of my neck. The person I was with told me to get up but I wasn't about to. Called them over and asked if I needed stitches. They said no which I'm thankful for.

Phew, it really knocked me for a loop. lol, I'm too old to be crashin' toys.

Heck, this past winter I crashed a snowmobile and banged myself up pretty bad that time too. Maybe I need to relax with the "young" toys. But man, I love playing on those things.

Ohhhhhh I so miss doing this. Not wrecking but riding. Used to go all the time and when I was much younger I used to race dirt bikes. I want to come back to Ohio so much. In a couple of years I will....can't wait !!!!!
