Jay is simply amazing. You don't just look at Jay's photography, you step into it. Sometimes you end up in Middle Earth, sometimes a bizarre and fantastic dream. He has a passion for life, love, art, music, friendship, beauty and ice-cream that is truly inspiring... and when you top that all off with just the right amount of hilarious, I can guarantee Jay will make you smile.

Jay is one of my closest and most cherished friends. The way he views and captures the world around him continually reminds me that nothing is ordinary when seen through wonderous eyes. With Jay, my two girls and I feel safe and loved and my laugh lines are permanently deepened because of him.
It's his...............ti.......timing. December 11, 2005
Jay is a deep, sensitive old soul. He is both a wizard and a jester. Through his art he makes the river of beauty accessible to us all. He lightens our hearts. He is a loyal friend.

Here's a rare blog from me. I've changed the sope of the photography tribe I moderate. It is no longer called "Ashland Tribe of Outdoor Photography." It is now...drumroll please...........,,,,,, <O> Photography and Zen <O> tribes.tribe.net/PhotographyAndZen The ATOP tribe was too small and localized for what I want to discuss. All of the other photography tribes emphasize the technical aspect of picture taking. I want to talk about the spiritual and ethical side of photography (or any visual art, for that matter). So for those of you who are already members, give it a visit and add your two cents, and some photos (be sure to title them and put your name in the description field). For those of you who aren't photographers, you're welcome to join as well. We want any and all perspectives about the world of photography, which touches everyone's life on a daily basis. "There are always two people in every picture—the photographer and the viewer." ~Ansel Adams Hope to see you there, -Jay-
