I love to dance, and lately I'm learning some great "old school" bellydance. My teacher's teacher's teacher was Jamilla Salimpour. I love it, call it caberet, call it folkloric, whatever you want to call it, it's just a blast. I still have great affection for my first love, tribal style, but I'm totally in to branching out.
I also love to sew, and create things, and do altered art projects and play the electric bass. My only regret is that I have to work for a living, and that gets in the way of my fun sometimes! Oh well...

since I have blogged on Tribe. Sadly, my sister passed away in May of 2007, I had to sell the Gypsy Java, and life just turned upside down for a bit. But I made it through, stronger, wiser and a little older. You know how they say "you can't go home?" Well that just isn't true! Last night Al, (my sweet guy) and I drove down to Oroville for the NVBC. It took us a little longer to get there than we thought so we missed the novice category, but we did see the intermediates and the rest. MAN there are some fabulous dancers around! NVBC is primarily cabaret style dancers, but I saw a few people I recognized as more tribal, and well, I love and support ANYBODY who spends the time to practice, practice, practice, and get their butt up on a stage and perform, no matter WHAT...

I'm so excited about going to Bloodmoon...I missed it last year cuz I had some yucky stuff going on in my life...Let's just say 2004 was a baaaad year for me but now I'm back from the dead, it seems and raaaaarin' to go! I plan to post my "take" on the weekend and would love for anyone else who happens to read my blog and wants to, to add their two bits!

Hi, just blogging to be blogging, but I am really loving jumping around on Tribe.net. I've found some people I already know from festivals and such, and I'm having fun reading other people's blogs and just seeing what's going on out there. I love surrounding myself with bellydance information, art, whatever. I need to find myself a good job soon so that I can afford to support my habit! I want to go to every event that I read about, and find that is just not gonna do with my skinny pocketbook...
