Got back from TribeOriginal after having a fine time, except for the beginning of the trip down there, which you can read about on my LJ:

It made the whole trip a little surreal. Work has been a little tough, and I'm distracted, but it's going ok. I'm trying to get some momentum going for some new projects.

Came back from the trip seriously inspired and slightly sad, i.e. why the hell doesn't the Baltimore dance scene have the classes I want and why in the hell didn't I start dancing about 10 years earlier (I can almost answer the second: because 10 years ago I was an insecure idiot who was more concerned about what other people thought of me than what made me happy. Hey, that was easy!). Am also kicking myself for not taking Zafira's sword class, though my friend appreciated borrowing my sword and I can also watch the Caravan Serai video for jumping off points.

This weekend is quiet, then next weekend is BIRDS Festival and the workshop we're hosting with our teacher Lisa Zahiya. Local dancers, if you're interested she's teaching Saturday at BIRDS (ME rhythms and dancing) and Sunday in Fells Point at Aura Movement (Dancing to live music for the tribal dancer).
