I own Shaia Fahrid Egyptian Dance Studio and Productions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I teach and perform Middle Eastern dance and am dedicated to educating myself and others in this area. I have three troupes - Serpentine Dream, The Habibi Dolls, and Extreme Taqisim. I actively promote men in the dance, as I find that they are often ignored or outright unwelcomed in the world of Raks Sharki. I feel that this and all dance forms should be for anyone who is moved to study, perform, watch, or otherwise participate. No barriers should exist - not age, not size, not gender, not religion, not nationality, not physical condition. Dance belongs to all the people!

Yeah, no wise cracks, she has been born! My great-granddaughter Isis greeted the world yesterday at 1:20 p.m. That's right, I'm a g.g.i.l.f.! She is 5 pounds, 14 ounces of pure sweetness! Long story short, sort of...I have a new email address which Tribe did not recognize, so I could no longer manage my tribe, Shaia Fahrid Egyptian Dance Tribe. Therefore, I have created a new profile and a new tribe, Shaia Fahrid Egyptian Dance Milwaukee. I invite everyone who joined my old tribe to switch over to my new tribe! I have not been able to moderate my tribe in so long! I changed my email address, and forgot my password, which led to a long adventure of attempting to get help from Tribe for a new password. Apparently, my old email address was interpreting Tribe's messages as spam and dumping them, because I was never able to get a new password at my new email address. Anyway, I am going to re-create this tribe, with the new name, Shaia Fahrid Egyptian Bellydance Milwaukee.
