We've since talked, bitched, laughed, snobbed, bemoaned, suffered and triumphed through a fascinating and at times hair-raising collection of lives (ours and other people's). Basically, we know way too much about each other, and that's just fine with me.

Ed is a great guy. It's amazing how active he is considering his condition. When I first met him, I was startled, but I soon realized that regardless of his condition, he was just a regular guy with feelings just like everybody else. And now, when I'm talking to him sometimes, I completely forget that he's got an oak tree growing out of his back. Hopefully he'll branch out later and put down roots. Really, though, his bark is worse that his bite. I'm hoping he'll turn over a new leaf and work on getting those chiggers out of his crotch. I really wish they'd leaf him alone. Enough said.
