I contracted HSV2 in August 2006. Happy birthday to me!
I am not "out" to most of my family and friends. When I was a teenager, my mom found out that I was molested by my step-father and to me, it felt like she was telling eveyrone we knew. Because of that experience, it is important for me t have control over who has my personal information. Since I have a lot of friends and family on tribe, I'm opting for this anonymous profile. I have a lot of respect for you folks who are putting it all out there, I'm just not ready yet.
One message that I want to get out there is that I contracted herpes despite using a condom during intercourse. I assume that I got it during foreplay, or from his testicles, based on where my outbreaks are.

Things I have learned the hard way, 1. when they test you for STDs, they won't test your blood for herpes unless you specifically ask. So if you think you've got the "all clear" it may not be so. 2. You can get herpes while using a condom. 3. some genital herpes isn't on the genitals at all. It could be on the groin, or somewhere else.
