<div>Hey Guys,

i just posted a final mix for my song "Prisoner" up on my myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/rachelmargaretmusic . This song is the first in a more rock vein. I'm writing two different albums at the moment, one pop and one rock.

Thanks so much to all the great musicians who contributed to the song, including Mario Cippolina (Huey Lewis and the News) on bass, Andrew Griffin (Cake) on drums, Betsy Adams for her fine work on electric, and Bonnie Hayes for helping me with production/engineering.

<div>Hey Guys,

I posted a live clip from my concert of someday soon on my myspace page--it's just up for the next couple of days. It's got the normal live issues, i.e. mix levels were bad, etc. But I think it's kind of vibe-y and the crowd was really great. Hope you enjoy it.

Best wishes,

<div>Hey Guys,

I hope you're having a great evening.

I know I told you I'm doing an internship starting in the summer out at the institute on Aging. Well, I just wanted to tell you about this great service they have-- it's called the Friendship line. People can call there when they are lonely/down and out. I think it's especially for senior citizens, but they are expanding the IOA's scope this year to include the chronically ill. If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, it's a cool thing to volunteer on the line. I have a friend who does and she says she really enjoys it.

Back in my old flat, I had an older neighbor who used to call the Friendship line, and they would call her to check on her. She said it really helped her out a lot.

So many people need the connection in this town. I think a lot of older people don't have any family here-- and since they don't get out, they are especially vulnerable.

When I start work there in the Fall, I'm going to volunteer for the line. If they have a training session sooner, I'll start doing it in the summer. It used to be part of the internship to take some calls on the line, but now it's purely a volunteer activity.

Best wishes,

 <div>Hi Guys,

I appreciate everyone who has said they are coming out this Sunday. It's going to be awesome to play for you. Please spread the word about this concert! We want to pack the Utah!

I'm really excited to be sharing the bill with the Trouble with Monkeys, a fun pop/punk band, and Djuna a great indie-rock band that's hot on the women's scene up in Sonoma. And lastly-- I have to make a plug for my own band. I am really blessed to be playing with them. They are amazing!

Hope to see you there!

Blessings!

<div>Hi Everyone,

I hope you are having a great day! Just to give you an update: I thought it would be a couple of weeks before I heard the results of my interview, but the Director of the program called me this morning. I got the internship! He said it was clear I really wanted to work with the elderly and thought I'd be a great fit for the program.

I'm really excited-- it's a great growth opportunity for me.

Best wishes,

Room for rent in 2bdr until Aug/September-- possibly later

<div>Hey Guys,

Does anyone need a room here in SF? I have a mid-sized room for rent in my hayes-valley 2bdr victorian apartment. Hardwood floors, nice-sized kitchen. You'd be sharing with me--grad student/musician. I'm looking for someone who is relatively clean, easygoing yet responsible with chores/bills and interested in sharing a home. My preference would be to have a female roommate this time, because my last two roommates were guys and I think it would be nice to have some feminine energy around the house. But I'm open to sharing with guys again, too. I am n/s and n/d and looking for someone with a similar lifestyle.

My lease for the apt is 1866. I'd offer the room for 800--which is less than half. I have two sweet labrador retrievers. They will want to like you so you'd have to like dogs. Living with dogs is fun but I figure they take up a bit of space, too-- so that's why I pay more than half.

Hit me up for info on deposits/move-in dates, etc.

Best wishes,

<div>Tomorrow's my interview for a psychotherapy internship at the Institute on Aging. I don't know if I told you I'm studying to be an MFT. In addition to being a songwriter, I'm really interested in helping people find their bliss.

if you are familiar with them, but they focus on Existential Psychotherapy (check out Irvin Yalom, or that great book "Man's search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl). I think it would be so beautiful to help older people find meaning in their lives as they reach their end-of-life transition.

Wish me luck!
