<div>***You Are A Martini***

You are the kind of drinker who appreciates a nice hard drink.
And for you, only quality alcohol. You don't waste your time on the cheap stuff.
Obviously, you're usually found with a martini in your hand. But sometimes you mix it up with a gin and tonic.
And you'd never, ever consider one of those flavored martinis. They're hardly a drink!

<div>Just as I almost forget Your full body effects,
You, detested nemesis of many years,
return with your entourage of attendants.
Not only did You arrive early this March
- for April &amp; May were when I suffered You most,
You appeared with the subtlety of a freight train.
O sneezing fits, and running nose,
as I succumbed to the allure of lotion on tissue,
You’ve made me seemed a carrier of viral plague!
O itchy eyes, and gritty eyelids,
as I tried to resist the urge to scratch out my torments,
You’ve made me abandoned wearing my contact lenses!
O sleepy brain, and tired body,
as I struggled to keep alert at work,
You’ve made me transformed into a zombie!

Heh, I'm not much of a poet, but darn, I was inspired... &amp; I'm only half-kidding on the effects of seasonal allergies to me. </div>

<div>That was last night! Oh my gosh, it was amazing! I was elated and excited the whole night. As I sit here in a post-adrenaline crash, I can’t help but grin. I am sooo lucky to be dancing with such talented &amp; lovely ladies! And Tamara (our fearless leader) is the bestest ever! =p

I barely remember our last show, Harem, as it went by so very fast. While this show went by very quickly as well, I remembered more of it. Here were some of my emotion-filled highlights &amp; thanks – Warning: big lovefest ahead:

It was all love &amp; giggles in the Green Room. Tamara, thank you for dusting sparkles on my boobs &amp; belly. LOL

Thank you very much, all the ladies who jump right in to help me change costumes. I was completely struck by how wonderful &amp; generous you were – you were dabbing sweat off my face, fanning &amp; wet-towelling to help cool me off, reminding me to breathe &amp; that I have time, helping me change, pinning &amp; taping my costume in place. I couldn’t have done it without you all. You made me feel like a superstar!

As Tamara started our show with her solo, I was standing in the wings and I had tears in my eyes. In fact, for most of the first half of the show, I was trying not to cry. I was so happy!

Those who were doing some funky dance moves in the wings with me as we waited, you rock! Giggles beat nerves any time!

As I was performing in all the group routines, I felt such love &amp; fellowship with all the dancers on the stage.

Thank you, all the guest dancers! Thank you for supporting us &amp; cheering us on in the winds!

I felt like I was flying during my solo. The spotlight felt like sun beams, energizing me. I have never been less nervous dancing in front of people.

Thank you Charlene, you are a great costume maker! I adore my costume, and it became part of the solo.

I wished I could have seen all the solos – everyone was great! I can’t wait until we see the recording.

I was sweating so much that I sweated off my fake eyelashes, and I couldn’t put it back on for the second half of the show. It’s also partly why my sword flew off my head at one point. Doh! Darn my sweaty head! Balance &amp; friction – 0; sweat &amp; gravity – 1.

Thank you, audience! You were all fantastic! Thank you for clapping, cheering, and being with us. We felt your support on stage.

Thank you, all who did so much – Carmen, for finding us a theatre; Susan, for being our quartermaster truly; Terry, our MC; the Bernie Legge Theatre; [here’s where I start to lose names, so sorry] our photographer; our videographer; our lighting tech. Thank you for your time &amp; energy!

Tamara, you rak! =) You are a wickedly wonderful instructor, choreographer, mentor, and friend! You inspire &amp; encourage at every turn. I feel so blessed that I got to learn from you and dance with you these past years. I adore your choreographies, too! Thank you so much for holding my hands for my first solo &amp; choreography. I couldn’t have come this far without you! &amp;lt;bounce in chair> So when are we doing the next show? LOL

And I just know that Tamara is so going to kick our bottoms next week in class. What fun &amp; difficult combos will she be getting us to do?

<div>My partner in crime and I were practising for an upcoming performance. Due to circumstances &amp; time, we were practising the bellydancing routine outside of our old elementary school with my boom box as accompaniment. Like my partner in crime said, it was rather freeing. It had the possibility that passer-bys can see us, but they would be stranger so we didn’t care as much.

We even had a dog-walker clapping after the run-throughs. I was talking to her and she mentioned that at a distance, my friend &amp; I were synchronized. Good to know that we don’t completely suck. LOL

Honestly though, my friend &amp; I would probably practice outside again. Weird huh?

<div>I was away at Faerieland, and it was fantastic! Words cannot describe how wonderful it was and how much fun I had. I giggled lots. I solved a riddle with help, found the treasure, and won a hand-painted box - the faerie depicted on the lid is so very me. I was especially giddy at the Faerie Ball, for I was dancing and at one point, I was spinning in place. I spun and I spun, and I didn't get dizzy! Now I just have to test to see if I can spin like that and not get dizzy in the real world.

Needless to say, I am rather tired today. I will miss the special place and time until it comes again next year. </div>

<div>Random stuff that made my day relatively cheerful after work:

I'm wearing a nail polish on my toes that looks like a metallic purple, called Zeitgeist by Rimmel. I didn't know the spirit of the time is metallic purple! LOL

I went to Dressew to get Fray Check to properly care for my coin belts. And I unexpectedly bumped into a friend! As he said - synchronicity.

I also went to Army &amp; Navy where they were having a sale! and I got me a pair of wicked, brown, pointy-toed, knee-high boots. Squee!

As a side note, squee! is a concept I got from some other website a long time ago where you add a squeal to a wee! and you get a squee! Think about it...

I got a coupon from Chapters Online &amp; ordered some books on bellydancing that I have wanted for awhile!

I spoke to a friend who was rather sick but is now much better!

I spoke to another friend whose back has been bothering her but is getting better with physiotherapy! Unhappily though, no dancing for her for awhile yet.

I'm very much in like with most everyone I know right now. Trust me, these are the people for which I haven't given up on humanity, despite the daily encounters I have with the rest of the humanity at work. The crazy stories I can tell ya...

And I like the word puff - it's in Power Puff Girls and Puffy AmiYumi!

Adventures in PNE

<div>So now that I have the time and the internet access at where I'm cat-sitting for the moment, I'm going to indulge in babbling in my blog. This isn't really important or all that interesting, so I'm warning you now. =)

My friend &amp; my fellow dancer S found out that I have never been to the PNE before. So the plan was to wander around the PNE after the performance. My friend T surprised me by showing up to watch the performance - poor guy, he got dragged into wandering around with us.

I kept getting distracted by all the shiny sparkly things! I resisted well, and only bought one piece of jewelry. It was my first pentacle ring. It's very odd that I haven't got one until now, but I guess the timing is finally right. My other purchases were a brown page-boy hat, and a set of funky markers at the Market Place. The markers are so fun! You can do graduated colours, 3-D lines, and it includes an apparatus that turns a marker into a mini spray paint gun.

Of course we went through the "carnival' games. S, as per her family tradition, put money down on the bet -on-the-month-then-roll-the-dice-booth; I rolled the dice &amp; my birthday month came up! So in effect, S won me a stuffed animal; it was a big fluffy cuddleable oh-so-cute teddy bear too. Then we made T play whack-the-mole with us. He got the highest score and it was enough to win a small purple fluffy dog; he really didn't want to but he carried it in his bag with his purchases.

This was really a pointless, filler-type blog entry. But I really was excited and had lots of fun at the PNE.

<div>So this has been an insanely busy week, but the one thing that currently has me inwardly giggling is that I danced at the PNE with my troupe last night!

Okay, so it was one song, and we were at the smaller stage, but it felt awesome!

It was especially fun to realize I have gotten used to performing again. I mean, I used to get the adrenaline shakes before, during, and after a performance. It was havoc on my balance, let me tell you. And due to circumstances, I went through a patch where I was almost as bad with the shakes in the last while. Last night, I only got a little shaky during the performance and there were a few times when I felt wobbly. I'm baaaaack! LOL

Thank you Tamara (my instructor) for being a kick-ass teacher &amp; troupe leader and the chances to perform! Couple of years back, I wouldn't have thought I would perform for the public, let alone at the PNE.

And a funny, final thought - my mother didn't quite believe when I told her I was dancing at the PNE. =)

1 odd and 1 annoying things from Saturday

<div>So the odd thing was that while my friend was driving us to the movies, we passed by this very unique vehicle in the shape of a Volkswagen beetle. Where the metal body &amp; frame of a car normally would be, it was a bright orange metal lattice. We could literally see through &amp; into the car. We both did double-takes.

The annoying thing was people who text message on their mobiles during a movie. Now I like to text. I do not text during a movie. The neon glow of the phone is very rude when I am trying to enjoy a movie for which I paid to see on big screen in the dark! And I am certain that whatever you so desperately need to convey to your friend can wait until the movie is over! Whatever happened to manners, I ask you?

Missing the fun I had during the long weekend

<div>I was at a magical, wonderful place during the long weekend. Shout out to GFLOE! There were songs, drumming, dancing, and magic, oh my!

Thank you so very much to all those who spoke an encouraging word or two or many on my &amp; my partner in crime's bellydancing. I think it was one of the few times that, since we have started bellydancing, we felt like we were truly dancing. Words cannot express how much it all meant to the both of us that people seems to have enjoyed our shaking &amp; moving! All you lovely people made me felt beautiful, and that I'm actually getting somewhere with the bellydancing!

Thank you thank you thank you!</div>

<div>So there were, and probably only ever would be, two entries on the MSN Blog. I just really need to tell someone, even if it is just the blankness of cyberspace, the misadventures I was having house / cat-sitting. It seems too funny not to share it. Darn the formatting though - sorry about that. Don't suppose anyone knows an easy way to fix that?

Nevermind the formatting when Tribe imports from the URL - here's the link
