San Francisco Devotion Show 2008
My facial expression really doesn't express how much I enjoyed sharing the same stage with Fat Chance in San Francisco last month for the first of what I hope will be many, many Devotion shows to come. Mark from Helm was actually on the stage with me and Deanna during this piece and just the fact that he actually moved back to allow my skirt to get a full spin in one of our moves was so surreal. It was also really cool to see Helm rockin' it while we were dancing that first weekend of the show. I miss SF!Pelham BodyFlow Team- Post- Launch- Flowing ROCKSTARS- Tracy T , Susannah, and me
Launch days were great at both the Vestavia and Pelham Gold's Gyms over the last weekend. Pelham totally rocked at BodyJam Launch Thursday night, complete with spotlights, smoke machines, and smoothie shots! We also had a good turnout Saturday for BodyFlow at both Vestavia and Pelham. And the real troopers came out again on Sunday for a BodyJam replay followed by the new BodyPump release. A fun four day end of week party!DISTINCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At long last I have received my BodyPump video assessment for final certification and I am happy to say I have received not only a Pass but a Distinction! Huge in the Les Mills world of fitness and a goal I've had since training for BodyFlow two years ago. I guess that German/Irish ability to throw up some heavy weight and shout with a smile has finally paid off. It also helps to have a super 5:30 am class of folks that are happy to be up lifting, shouting, and smiling with you on a Friday! I love my Pelham early morning BodyPumpers!Yoga/Pilates DVDs
This is a watercolor version of a shot during the yoga/Pilates videos I filmed in December. Many thanks to Tom MacKnight for the videography as well as the watercolor print. Hopefully the DVDs will be out soon for anyone interested in embarking on a yoga/Pilates journey.Mercedes 1/2 Marathon
While not as fast as this little kitty I did manage to beat my previous time in the Mercedes 1/2 Marathon this past Sunday. I finished in 1:58:22, averaging about a 9:03 mile, and came in 39th in my age group (out of 256). Not bad considering my last attempt in this race in 2004 resulted in a finish at 2:05:26 and an age group rank of 68 out of 187.The weather was great! Really appreciated the drum line (I think from Phillips High School?) positioned at the top at the climb to complete mile 6. I actually felt those drums transport me up the long, long, long climb. My hamstrings are almost over it.
In Memory and Celebration of Bronner Burgess
Over the weekend, a family that is very special to me lost their youngest son in a tragic accident. My prayers are with all of them in their time of grief. My gratitude is with them for the example they set in the world today. God bless. How they really feel!
A taste of things to come?A friend sent me this picture and I just had to share it with all of my animal-loving friends out there in tribe-land.
Keep up the good fight against animal cruelty!
