My name is Katie O‘Brien. Yeah sure…I‘m a weirdo, but I love being such a unique and different girl. I am seventeen years old, and loving my life. Though times are rough, I still come out on top with a smile on my face. There are good days…there are bad days. But in the end, I‘m always glad to know that I‘ve survived one more day.

I was born on June 4th. Considering the fact that I was two months premature, I‘d have to say that I have matured very well. I‘m 5‘6“, so I would say that this confirms said fact. I love being seventeen. More privileges and not as many responsibilities.

I go to Irvington High School. I am a senior in high school, and I love to learn. I am taking English 12, Government/Economy, Dance, Advanced Drama, Chamber Chorale, and am Mr. Pearce's TA. Talk about a full schedule, right? But I‘ll get through it like I did last year. I mean, even though I’ve got some teachers that I really don’t like, and some people just absolutely HATE me, I’ll be fine. The goods out way the bads in this situation. I just know it. I mean come on! Spring Olympics, Irvington Conservatory Theatre, Senior Ball, and GRADUATION! I can‘t wait! Not only that, but I am the official emcee for Ritmo Latino 2009, a Latin dance variety show I participated in last year. I'm also belly-dancing in the show as well.

I love to sing, dance, and act. I have performed at a couple of venues, and have been in three school plays. I was a Doo Wop Girl in Little Shop of Horrors, and I was Martha Cratchett in A Christmas Carole. I recently played the role of Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I’ll tell you! It was so much fun! Shakespeare has greatly influenced my life, so I was stoked when I got to play his faerie queen. Woo! Well, that and…I’m a sprite. It just worked. I have also begun to perform in community threate. In July, I had the priviledge of playing Mayzie La Bird in Seussical. It was a wonderful expirience, and I will miss the cast. I also have expirienced my first ensemble role in Stage 1's production of Sugar, based on Some Like it Hott. What a fantastic show with a phenomenal cast and crew. I'll definetely miss it. Now I am makeup designer for Irvington High Shcool's Alice in Wonderland, and I am starring in Irvington Conservatory Theatre's production of Grease as Betty Rizzo. Excitement!

I have also participated in two pageant. Last summer I was in the National American Miss Junior Teen California Pageant 2007. I didn‘t place, but I really enjoyed myself. I made a lot of friends, I did it again this year. THIS YEAR, I competed in the National American Miss Northern California Teen 2008 pageant. I also competed in the OPtional Talent and Photogenic COmpetitions. I took home the State Ambassador Award for Advertising, and brought down the house with my solo version of "For Good" from Wicked. I won the Talent competition. I also have received the title of Miss California Teen Eternal Beauty 2008. This November, I competed in the National American Miss All-American Teen pageant, and came homw with new friends, and the National Cover Girl title.

I also perform in a sword theatre group called The Highlander Warriors. It is headed by Richard Brown, who I consider an uncle. I get to cat-fight, sword-fight, and perform in various skits to bring the history of 1562 Scottish Highlands to modern day society. My favorite event is the Ventura Seaside Highland Games. We get to run on the beach at night. hahah

So no matter what I do, I always find the fun in it. Be it school, performing, or competing...I‘ll always enjoy life. Carpe Dium…it‘s my motto. Well, that and Don‘t Tread On Me. The Spritely One is out!
